What to do if phone do not charge.

If the battery is constantly low try charging one of your friends Nokia phone with your charger if their phone charges fine on your charger it has to be your battery or the charging circuit in your phone so then you can temporarily swap the battery with a friend who has the same phone or battery & if that battery charges fine in your phone then your battery needs to be replaced if not then the charging circuit in your phone has gone south in which case its time for a replacement phone

Tip

Why your phone won't charge

<span>Hello,<br /><br />there are three or more reason why your your phone won't charge;<br /><br />1. The charger might be defective.<br />2. The charging port of the phone might be defective.<br />3. The battery cell might be very weak or the battery might be defective.<br /><br />Charger<br /><br />A defective charge can cause a phone not to charge. To actually find out if your charger is defective or not, borrow a charger from a family or friend that has the type of your phone, use the borrowed charger to on your phone. If the the phone charges, then obviously, your charger is defective and need to be replaced. It is also good to test your charger on another phone to confirm the status of the charger.<br /><br />Make sure you run the above test, before buying another charger so that you don't waste your money. Sometimes, charger might be working and phone won't charge due to some other reasons that would be discussed below. So confirm first before buying another charge. Don't buy another charged based on assumptions........<br /><br />Battery<br /><br />A battery that is very flat, I mean a battery that its cell is very weak, won't charge with a phone charger. You might have to leave the battery in the phone with the charge plugged in for some minutes or hours before the battery will begin to charge and other times, it might not charge at all.<br /><br />What make batteries to be in this kind of condition is; <br /><br />1. If you use you phone to the point when it says "low battery" and you still don't charge the battery and the phone turns off by itself. This can run down a battery cell.<br />2. If you leave a battery in the phone idle for a days or months, the battery cell will become weak. Or if you leave a battery used for days or months.<br />3. If you don't use the correct/right charger for your phone, this can drain the battery instead of charging it.<br /><br />Batteries in such condition will have to be fast charged with a desktop charger. The desktop charger will be connected directly to the battery and the battery will definitely pick up within 1 hour. Thereafter, you can continue charging it with your phone charger and it will charge immediately.<br /><br />But if the battery is defective, it won't charge at all. Even if you use a desktop charger. Such batteries needs to be replaced. Also, it is good to test the phone with another battery, and charge it to confirm before buying another battery.<br /><br />Below is a picture of what a desktop charger looks like;<br /><br /><img src="walesarumi_4.jpg" /><img src="walesarumi_3.jpg" /><br /><br />Charging port<br /><br />If non of the above seems to be the reason why your phone won't charger, then it means the charging port is defective. <br /><br />Most times defective charging port confuses people. They think the charger is the reason why their phone won't charge and after using another charger on their phone they still find out that the does still does not charge.<br /><br />Once your phone doesn't charge, the first this you test is the charger and second, the battery. But if the battery and charger seems not to be the cause of the problem, then it is the charging port that is cause the problem.<br /><br />Your charging port might not be defective, maybe it loosed contact with the phone phone or it shifted from it's position. Sometimes, the way we forcefully insert our charger into the phone can make the charging port loose contact.<br /><br />At this point, you will have to disassemble your phone. But if you feel it is a task you cannot perform yourself, then take the phone to a repairman to help you out. But if you feel you can do it yourself (DIY), read further.<br /><br />Turn off the phone. Remove the battery. After that, get a phone screw driver, unscrew all the phone screws, remove the phone cover in order to gain access to the phone panel and get to the charging port. <br /><br />Check if the charging port actually loosed contact. If it didn't loose contact, then you will have to replace the charging port. <br /><br />Note that some charging port are soldered to the phone board and some are not. So if yours is not soldered, simply remove the charging port and make a replacement. But if is soldered, you will be needing a rework station. Rework station is what you will use to remove the charging port.<br /><br />Below is a picture of what the rework station looks like;<br /><br /><img src="walesarumi_5.jpg" /> <img src="walesarumi_6.jpg" /><br /><br />I hope the above makes sense to you.......<br /><br />Good luck.<br /></span>

I need to charge my htc wildfire s phone battery it won't charge it's not the battery or charger it's the socket

Probably you will have to buy an external battery charger that will charge the type of battery the HTC Wildfire is using. But if you upgraded to another HTC phone, maybe the new one is using the same battery as the Wildfire and then you can charge the old battery in the new phone and then use it in the old phone to transfer your contacts to the new phone.

One fine day after low battery indication i plugin phone for recharge, it was well connected and showing charger plugin indicator on phone. phone was also working but percentage of battery was not...

Hi there,
You can try with this procedure, Try to charge another battery in this phone with another charger, if the battery got charged then there is an issue with your charger and battery, if it gives the same problem, then you have to get fixed your phone from repairing shop or your cellphone service center, it seems that the charging IC of your phone is not working properly which needs to be replaced, they will check the whole motherboard of your phone, and will fix the problem, if the set is in warranty claim it as soon as possible .
If you require more assistance, feel free to reply to this post
Thanks for contacting FixYA! Regards, BA

Trouble charching battery, after 6 houres only one bar on battery . Charging will not complete.

Hello,

1 charger
2.battery
3.charging port
There are three ares to look at,
There are three different things you can try to determine the real problem of your phone, firstly, try use a similar charger to charge the phone to see if it will hold charge, if it does, it means your charger is bad, get a new charger. secondly, another area you will need to look at is removing the battery on your phone and charging the battery of your phone with a similar phone to see if the phone will charge the battery and hold charge, if it did not, it means the battery of your phone is bad and will need to be replace, lastlt, check, the charging port of your phone might be malfunctioning and not charging your phone, if the two above look good, it means the charging port is the problem, replace the charging port and you will see that your phone will hold charge.

Take care.

Battery drained for Bold 9000. It just died on me.

Hello,

Get the battery charge charged and power on your phone back after the battery has been charged.

Use the charger that came with your bold 9000 to charge your phone, if it does not charge it, get a similar charger to charge your phone and power it on after charging, ou phone will continue to serve back as before.

But if the battery is not charging at all, it means the cells of the battery are dried, so you will need to get another battery on your phone.

Take care..

Battery will not charge in phone on charger

Ive seen phones that were the same but most newer phones should be able to charge the battery through the phone not just the battery cradle. You have probably got a defective phone. I'd be very surprised if it was designed that way but sadly its possible. Call your provider to double check and be sure to keep your box and all materials as most companies wont let you return or exchange a phone without the original packaging and everything in it. Good Luck.

Phone won't charge

Hi, The Li-ion battery cahrging circuitary is some what complex. For most chargers, the charging procedure is divided into three main phases: ? Pre-charging phase ? Constant-current-charging phase ? Constant-voltage-charging phase In the Pre-charging phase, it utilizes low charging current to protect the battery. However,in most recharging situations, the charged batteries still have some voltage remaining, so the charger does not need to apply this action, and just passes it on to the next charging phase. The constant current and voltage charging phases are the main charging phase for recharging the batteries, where most of the charging energy is transformed into the battery. The maximum charging current for a battery depends on the battery?s rated capacity. For example, one battery rated 700 mAh usually can be charged at 350 mAh to 400mA, for faster charging effort. When the charged battery is Li-Ion, in the last charging procedure, the microcontroller normally maintains regular charging voltage while monitoring charging current to determine when the charging procedure should be completed. When the battery is fully charged, most of the electrical energy is converted to thermal energy, which can result in high battery temperature. In this case, the temperature monitoring function will be added for the solution. But since most Li-Ion batteries on the market also have an over-charging protection function, the temperature detect function is rarely used. So it is better to get your phone charging circuitary checked at a local store rather than to make a charger, coz both may cost you almost same. all the best my friend. regards sreejith
