I have set up with window xp profesional with acer aspire 4310. The problem is my wireless card(Broadcom 802.11g network adapter).I have driver disk and i have set it up already but it still cannot work....

Wireless. I need to know a few things.
What is your wireless router set for? WEP or WPA?
Have you given your network an SSID?
Do you get a wireless Icon on your task bar near the clock?
Is the connection light blinking on the Wireless card (PCMCIA, right?)
Can you open the wireless driver?
If you right-click on the network ICON near the clock, can you open wireless networks? Have you tried?

Your wireless has to be set EXACTLY the same as the router. SSID with capitals in the same places. Same WPA key if you are using WPA. Use WPA2 if your router is set for this.
Same WEP key if you are using WEP.
Let me know

I have an acer aspire 4310 laptop wireless lan not working

adapter driver is missing, this method is not completely downloaded the wireless lan driver... you download the software driver properly with all the support-in motherboard chipsets... to make it sure that the laptop is recognized the wireless lan card inside. Good luck!
Im sure you a CD Disc Utility for the ACER Aspire 4310..

Aspire 4310 Broadcom wireless

ok...
the drivers are not getting installed properly and i am sure that you are installing the right drivers,
what you can go is go to device manager and then right click on the drivers and go to properties,
once the properties box opens go to the tab that says drivers, click on update drivers and then go ahead and folow the wizard to update the drivers(make sure you download a fresh set of wireless drivers)..if it still gives a yellow triangle,
go ahead and right click on the wireless drivers, click on uninstall and then restart the computer and checked if it still has the yellow bang..
the link for website is
http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_4310.html
once you downlaod the drivers its a zip file, download in the desktop, right click on it and then click on unzip, once the files are unzipped go to the unzipped folder and then click on install for the setup..and in this webpage go ahead and choose wireless broadcom as the option as it shows lan broadcom and wireless broadcom,u can also try installing wireless intel because it might be that you have intel card in you computer and not broadcom..
try it out..

There is another driver for this laptop that's a different type of wifi card.
http://www.acerpanam.com/synapse/forms/portal20.cfm?recordid=4516&formid=3394&website=AcerPanAm.com/au&siteid=8116&words=all&keywords=&areaid=12
that's one but that's for WinXP
Here's a site where all the drivers for that particular model
http://www.acerpanam.com/synapse/forms/portal20.cfm?website=AcerPanAm.com/au&siteid=8116&areaid=12&formid=3394#results
You can go down by each one until you find the correct driver or you can take off the wifi cover under the laptop and look at the wifi card and it will tell you which model it is so that you won't have to try each one till you find the correct driver.

Networking Problem

By local network do you mean using a wired connection or a wireless connection? I gather you mean with a wire.

The following link is to a PDF page listing the lan drivers from acer for an Aspire 3680 --

Drivers Link

The second and third entries on the list both appear to be wireless adapter drivers for built-in hardware (atheros or broadcom). Are you sure the driver you have loaded is the correct driver?

To determine which if the two may be suitable for your machine try the following

Click Start and right mouse click My Computer and select properties

Select the general tab and click on device manager

find your wireless adapter probably preceded by a yellow question mark (?)

double click on the wireless adapter entry

get the name at the top of the general tab and
the click the details tab and record the
device instance id value

Report what you found back here in a comment.

Hopefully the name will contain atheros or broadcom of not I hope I can lookup the device instance id string to determine the manufacturer of the wireless adapter.
