I have a Sharp Carousel microwave model R-330J and cleaned some insects out of the front display. To do this I accessed the display by pulling the assembly apart from the rear. I reassembled it but the ribbon connector from the keypad hs no connector and I assume is placed between the board that it needs to touch and the rubber guard from the display but I can't get it right. I have some keys on the touchpad active but they are not working corectly an I assume its to do with the way this ribbon connector is sitting as they keypad was not faulty prir to me pulling it apart.
Does anyone have a description of how to re-assemble this correctly?
everything else looks fine its just the keypad that isn't working.

This model does not have a brightness adjustment for the VFD display.
It may be a weak VFD tube due to aging or it may be that the rear of the display window
and front of the display glass are very dusty.
Sometimes you can clean it inside to brighten it up.
our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical
over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.
Then you can detach the keypad connector (as per attached photo) then remove
the control panel screws.
Be careful not to crack the glass display when handling it, or it's a goner.
Then you can use a soft cloth (not a paper towel) and a mild cleaner (not
ammonia-based) to clean the front surface of the VFD display glass and the
rear side of the clear bezel (display window) that's attached to the keypad.
Some connectors have a lock. If that cleaning didn't help, then you have a weak VFD.
