Hi how to take of front door panel off the near side door. i have to fit a new mirror unit, this is the new face lift model, the car is a s40 volvo se diesel, registration is dk06xjm your help thank
There are Six screws In total. One behind the handle, two along the edge of the panel and another one by the pocket inside the door, there is another where you grab by the switches. Its covered by a small plastic cover that clips in to place, That will allow the switch pack to be pulled up and disconnected, there is also one behind the speaker cover,You also have to pry off the cover for the back of the mirror, once all the screws are out, you'll pull the lower edge toward you and lift the panel straight up to clear the lock rod,Pull the bottom edge toward you and then push the panel up. The top edge of the panel sits in a channel on the sealing strip for the window, so you'll have to give the panel a bit pf a push,It also has to clear the bracket that the switch pack was screwed to. Hpe this helps, glad to have been of service to you.

The mirror slides out , away from the cabin, Retained by spring clips.
SOURCE: How to remove side view interior mirror control switches
You need to remove the door panel. there are 2 t-25 screws behind the pull handle (some models do have only one screw) as well as you must remove about 9 push buttons. then the door panel will pull away from the door itself then you can get to the mirror switch

When you open the hood, look directly behind the headlight. all the way in the corner and a little way down should be a hook. I usually use a screwdriver and pull directly outward and then a little to the right or left. Then bring the hook back and the corner light should be disconnected. Then you can pull it out and do what you need to do. When you put it back, its a pain because you have to get the hook into a plastic groove. Make sure that you know where the plastic piece is before you start, just get a flashlight and find it. Then use your screwdriver the pull the hook up and get it into the groove. Presto!

I think it could be either a faulty ground or a loose connection to the alternator/ battery.
