That's odd.
Is it pre-owned? if so, they could have deleted the cheats and used it to hold pictures in their camera. I would suggest
getting a new one or go to www.coadjunkies.com and download cheats there with the sd card inserted into the computer.

Hi. There is a simple solution to your problem. Probably not the one you want to here, but
Your camera can only accept 512MB SD Cards. Anything beyond that Max will cause problems
for you. So the problem is the SD Card not the camera.

SD Cards that show Not Formatted when put into a computer . . .

Try an SD card reader, theyre only a few bucks and they practically eliminate the need for the photo software that came with your camera. I use a card reader/writer which cost about $12 at WalMart

Hitachi dz-hs500e camcorder

The DZ-HS500E takes a full sized SD card, your Sandisk is a 512MB microSD card. You need an adaptor (one came with the card if you bought the normal retail package) to fit this card into any standard SD device (see photo here: http://www.i1010.co.uk/p78171/sandisk_microsd_512mb_w_3_in_1_adapter.htm).

There's a demonstration video that shows the SD slot here:

It seems to be somewhat below the viewfinder.
