Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console
I have an xbox 360 with the 3 tv and 3 hdtv cable adapter, my problem is; i can get the xbox to turn on, but i cannot get the direct tv to do anything. i donot have a hdtv, just a normal tv, I have tried to attach the non hd cables accordingly by the instruction manual, by hooking it to both top and the bottom plug ins(seperate attempts) and plugging one on top and two on bottom and switched(video on bottom and other two on top) and Ive triend to program the remote for the direct tv, but I cannot figue out what i am doing wrong that i don't see any picture on the tv...Ive even tried putting in a game to see if that was the issue...
can anybody help me?
What do you have coming out of the xbox 360, HDMI or RCA? The same question for the direct tv?

SOURCE: HDTV Problem
there shouldnt be a problem with the cable, if you use the component leads then you will not need to use the s video cable for video incase that is what you are doing, component only uses 5 connectors and the switch should be set at HDTV not tv and the tv set at component Use the following colours into your tv:- Green, Blue, Red and the audio red and white, you do not need the yellow or the s video plugs. Then select the 1080i when in the component setings on your tv and do the same in the dashboard settings

I just got the xbox 360 for christmas 07. Two days later I bought guitar hero 3 and Halo 3.
Get this...the console is noisy and it scratched grooves into both disks and now the games are worthless...I took this piece of junk back to best buy and they were all out of the console for an exchange...so they gave me money back for the system and instructions in how to get the games replaced through microsoft....its a total nightmare because guitar hero 3 isn't published by microsoft so I have to goto redoctane.com to get a hint as to what I have to do....on top of all this, I can't get the games exchanged for new ones until I have a serial number...
Is Bill Gates serious ?

On the TV you should have a video, input or mode button. If you press that button while the 360 is on it should pickup the signal. You need to be in video mode instead of cable mode since you are using the red, yellow, white cables. Many TVs have a few video modes so press it wait a few seconds and try again if it does not work. Hope this helps:)

SOURCE: no picture or sound on the tv
Hey... I had same problem I opened up the console and found that there was to much heat sink compound and when system had gotten hot it ran onto the component/mobo.

First you have to activate the HDMI audio option in your Sony suround system options so as to activate it. Please try this and then tell me what happens.
