How do I remove the inner lint from an old Maytag dryer

I usually hired someone to do it, but I never saw him do it.
I would like to do it myself.

The inner lint? I am assuming you mean around the blower fan?? You will need to remove the top and front of the housing to get to the blower fan.

Maytag Electric Dryer Model LDE7600. I do not have a manual for this dryer (inherited dryer). The dryer is heating but seems to take forever to dry anything.

verhagenk, see this all of the time. the problem is probably with the vents being clogged up with lint. you see, in order for a dryer to do it's job, it has to have plenty of airflow. now it would be possible for something else, but you should start with this. you're going to have to remove the top and front panel. you should see a fan to the bottom left, take a look at that first. if it's all covered in lint and stuff, problem.
next look down into the door past the lint screen. you should be able to vacuum all of the stuff out of there as well.
any of the internal ductwork that you can get to, should be inspected and cleaned out, including the vent to the outside.
if you dont feel comfortable doing this, then i would hire someone to take a look at it.
when a dryer seems to take too long to dry the clothes, this is usually the problem

Maytag dryer model #PYE2200AYW how to remove lint compartment once I removed the screws in the front

Instructions
Things You'll Need:

Nylon scrub brush Liquid detergent Vacuum

1.Remove the lint screen, which usually is located in the front of a Maytag dryer. Gently pull it up and out, and remove the lint with your fingers.
2. Use hot water and wet both sides of the lint screen. Use a nylon scrubbing brush and a little bit of liquid dish soap or laundry detergent to scrub the screen clean of lint and fabric softener buildup. Rinse both sides thoroughly with hot water. Towel dry and replace the lint screen when dry. Maytag states that owners should do this every six months.
3.Clean the exhaust every two years, as recommended by Maytag. Whoever installed your dryer had to install the exhaust vent. Unplug your dyer and unscrew the vent from the back of the dryer. Use a vacuum attachment or your hands to remove any clogged lint and replace. You may need to do the same thing to the other end that is attached to the wall.
4.Clean the dryer cabinet. According to Maytag, a professional should remove lint from the dryer cabinet every two years. This may be a good time to have him clean out the vents as well, rather than doing it yourself, if preferred.
5.Clean your lint screen on a regular basis. Maytag states that you should clean the lint screen with your fingers before using the dryer each time. Be sure to replace it all the way so it can work properly.

We have a combo dryer and washer. Washer is A2444330KH. Leaves lint on cotton shirts, have cleaned the filter no help. Any ideas? David

Dryer lint not only presents a problem by cluttering up your clothes with white specks, but it can also lead to a dryer fire. While it is impossible to completely eliminate dryer lint, you can take action to drastically reduce lint and the potential problems that come along with excess dryer lint. If your clothes take more than one cycle to dry, you see no lint on the lint screen, the clothes are very hot after drying or you find excess lint on the clothes after drying, you probably have a problem with accumulation of dryer lint in the dryer vent.
Use a dryer vent cleaning brush and clean the dryer vent, or hire a professional to clean the exhaust vent behind your dryer. If your dryer vent is clogged, it will create excess dust in the dryer and on the clothes. The excess lint can eventually catch on fire given the heat load of the dryer.

MAYTAG DRYER DRIES 2 LOADS THEN WONT START UNTIL IT COOLS DOWN

usually it's the motor, there's an overload on the motor that shuts it down when it's to hot, when was the last time you cleaned out the dryer?there could be lint covering the motor, this will overheat it,clean out the duct that the lint filter slides into, blow out the vent line and vac the inside of the dryer where the motor is,next time send the model number and how old the dryer is,clean out the dryer and don't do one load after another and you can still get some life out of the dryer,if the dryer is old use it until it dies

My Fridgidaire feq332es dryer has stopped heating in certain cycles. I read the thread about the control thermostat, I think I can change this myself do you have someone who can give me some direction on...

Have you checked your duct and vent for lint clogs? If you vent is obstructed, it will cause the unit to shut down the heat. Try removing the duct hose and examine for lint clogs. Be sure to look into where duct connects to your dryer. Then take a look at the wall vent, both inside and outside the house as well. You might try that before replacing the thermostat.

My lint trap has very little lint.

Older clothes do not produce as much lint as new ones. Also, if your dryer isn't getting as hot as it used to, then you won't get as much lint either. Does it seem to take a bit longer to dry your clothes? Also, check your dryer vent, if the airflow is reduced, the amount of lint that is expelled through the filter will deminish as well. You may have a build up of lint in the vent ducting to the outside that is restricting airflow.

Lint Filter in Whirlpool Agitator washing Machine

I have a regular top loader and the lint filter is on the underside of the inner tub. You have to remove the inner tub to get to it. You might be able to find a service manual explaining this at appliancejunk.com.
