SOURCE: I have a 1990 cobra 148 GTL with 5 pin

The wiring is not likely to be the same.

The information on the radio is here:
http://www.cbtricks.com/radios/cobra/148gtl/index.htm

You will likely need to open up the mic to identify what your wires connect to to determine the correct oreintation. it is possible too you may find one of the models listed was used by Barjan and is nothing more than a rebranded microphone.

The wiring came off and don't know howe they go by color it'got5 places to salder wires are r/b/or/b

If your asking about a Cobra radio then these links will have the pin-outs plus wiring color code for different mic's.
I had to guess what you was asking for as your question was kinda vague. And a Cobra 29 is a 4 pin mike, not 5 pin.
The 148 - 142 were 5 pin. I'll include it also.

I need to wire a silver salute mic to a cobra 142 gtl 5 pin what color wire goes towhat mic pin

dont go by colors.. go by what wires are on the switch and mic element.. mics can be rewired and no one told you the colors could have changed FYI..

Pin #1 ~ Audio
Pin #2 ~ Shield
Pin #3 ~ Receive
Pin #4 ~ Switch Wire
Pin #5 ~ Transmit

always go by connections not color of the wire. that way you learn and you can do any mic. to any radio.

I have a 1990 cobra 148 GTL with 5 pin side-mounted mic. I recently bought a Barjan 5 pin noise canceling mic. Is the mic compatible with my cb, or do I need to change the wiring? Larry

I'm trying to wire a galaxy desk mic to a cobra 200 10 meter mobile

  • The Galaxy desk mic (power mic) is already wired four pin and the Cobra 200 is a 4 pin already as well. So unless someone has messed with them the mic will plug right up to the radio as is.

  • But if someone has repined the mic then follow the pinout I listed below to get it rewired for the Cobra 200
  1. Pin #1 on mic connector - Black wire.
  2. Pin #2 on mic connector - White wire.
  3. Pin #3 on the mic connector - Blue wire.
  4. Pin #4 on the mic connector - Red wire.

  • If you look on the end of the mic connector it will have the imprint of the number for each pin on the mic.

  • If you have any comments please feel free to leave them here.
  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

Regards, Tony

Diesel #8-32 echo power mics

cobra 4 pin is pin1= shield, pin2= mic audio (usually the shield is wrapped around the mic audio wire).pin 3= transmit or push to talk usually red or white whichever isnt wrapped with the shield, and pin4 = receive or speaker complete

5 pin cobra=1-Audio 2- Shield 3-Receive 4-Switching Wire 5-Transmit, you can jump pins 4 and two
