Replaced lamp on Hp Digital projector sb21 and red light is showing
Changed the lamp as it had gone over its allocated use, tested it after changing the bulb and worked fine. Now the device will turn on but there is a red warning light. No images will display

Try taking the lamp out and reinstalling it - it may not be all the way in. If this does not help, a polarizer or filter may be bad. It's going to be hard to get replacement parts for this old projector that is at least 11 years old.
The only other thing I can think of is to try a factory reset - look through the menus until you find this.
If you scroll down the page, you will actually see a diagram as to whee the color wheel is located and, how it functions. Someone took the time to take pictures of the projector and the internals for use in showing how light emits thru it.
are you managing to get into the menu at all and reset filter and lamp hours?
By the way - although optoma what cheap option for our school, i now get hitachi with 3 year bulb warrenty.... mine BURNT out luckily not at weekend or school may have gone up too - expensive optoma really then if that had happened. good luck
go to the menu , check information or lamp timer . u will get the lamp hours. u can also physically check the lamp for melted filament, white deposit on reflector of broken filament to confirm
it works if you do it in bootcamp. but have to select external monitor instead of digital display under the intel graphics control panel. does anyone know of such an option under OSX?
I actually fixed this myself!!!! Same thing, new bulb, fans work, turn on for first 20 seconds or so, see HP splash screen and then it shuts down. Try below....It worked for me.
Here's the fix: Take off the top cover of the projector. Unplug the wire leading from the two fans in the back of the unit to one of the circuit boards in front of you. Just trace one wire from fan to board. Unplug at board. Turn unit on and it will again turn on, show HP splash screen and then shut down, like it should, because the fans are now disabled. After it completly shuts down, plug the fan wire back into the board. Turn the unit back on and, presto, its working again. It will not turn off.
