You have unscrewed the suspension screw?

also check the needle for dirt and dust... try blue tacking a 5p coin to the top on the needle to give it a little more weight, if the needle stays in place then the arm balance if off, and unless there is a mechanism to adjust that on this turntable then i guess its a return!

Shaky sounding records

Some things to check:-
Is anything preventing the turntable from rotating smoothly, this would cause a judder.
Perhaps the records are sliding on the turntable, a rubber mat will cure this.
Ensure the record player is on a level surface.

Record continously skips after 4 or 5 seconds.

You need to apply more pressure to the stylus. This is done by adjusting a weight on the other end of the arm. See your manual for more details.

The wires that connect to the rear of the cartridge are easy to dislodge while changing a stylus. A flashlight will help you see underneath. There are tiny little push-on connectors that attach the wires to the pins.

Chances are it was sold with a faulty stylus. The only other thing to try is to increase the weight at the end of the tone arm. It might have numbers on, turn it up in stages to see if that solves it

I have a crosley radio, and when I use the turntable, the needle slides across the record, how do I get this to stop?

Check the needle, it may be worn out. The needle point that sits on the record track should be very sharp.

My record stylus slides across records

There are a couple of reasons this is happening. First and formost gently lift the stylus arm and blow any and all dust off of the needle. You may even have to gently 'pinch' off any accumulated dust. Be careful since you don't want to pull the playing needle off.
This is a very common problem. If this does not help, you need a new stylus needle for the arm.

There can be a number of reasons for this.
Have you checked that the stylus tip has not broken off? this is a common cause and will require a new stylus.
