Timmer stays in final rinse mode, must adv...

Kenmore model 665.1674993. This washer has an option to heat the water after each fill cycle (3 cycles). We never select this option. If selected, it turns on a light and will not let the timmer advance till it reaches 135 to 145 degrees. Heres what happens!

Washer stays in its final rinse stage, the red hold light comes on and of course the timmer will not advance. I can advance the timmer knob 1 or 2 detents, the light goes out and washer finishes.What is causing this light to come on , and stop the timmer. This only happens in the final rinse stage( note: hot water option is off ) The timmers for this model is very pricey!! Is there anything I can bipass since we don't use the hot water option??
