Your wired connection cable which sends the signals to the tv is faulty. I recommend buying ps2 or ps3 (either will work) value component cable for the best graphic quality. check it out in stores like game or gamestation or even cex for price ranges of £2 to £10 very cheap for amazing high definition quality (only if you have component support for your tv)!!! GOOD LUCK MATE

Doesnt show up on the television. It does turn on. turned playstation on and off, tried different connections, still nothing

It is likely that the problem is your AV cable. This cable has one plug that connects to your Playstation 3 and a red plug, a white plug, and a yellow plug that connects to your television. Follow these steps to get your PS3 up and running again
  1. Unplug your AV cable from your PS3 and T.V.
  2. Plug in your AV cable to your PS3 and T.V.
When plugging your AV cable back into the T.V. make sure that the red plug is in the red socket, the yellow plug is in the yellow socket and the white plug is in the white socket.
If problems persist try using a different AV cable.

My PlayStation 2 wont work on my led TV while running PlayStation one discs. I have an LG 26 inch and it says invalid source when I play PlayStation one games on my ps2.

It sounds like your TV does not support the resolution that the PS2 is trying to output the PS1 game in. Try investing in some composite cables if you are not already using them, that may help the situation.

How do I connect my Playstation 2 to a Phillips

First, you need to plug in the A/V cable (the cable with the red, yellow, and white tips) to the back of the Phillips TV. There should be color coordinated plugs to go with the cable. After that, plug the other end of the A/V cable to your PS2, and you are good to go with your audio and video.

RCA cable

Looking at the Target website, they offer an RCA cable that will connect your TV to either a Playstation or XBOX.

The cable is made by Monster Cable, and is called a Universal S-Video/Composite Cable for Xbox and Playstation 2. Target charges $20.79 +tax.

All of the Playstations, except the PSP, can use the same connector.

On the Target website, search for 10853408. That is the catalog number.

Other stores like Walmart, Best Buy, etc. may also offer this cable or one similar.

No picture for playstation 2

Could possibly be that it is not connected up correctly, or your playstation has died. If you have access to another playstation, hook it up to your cables as they are hooked up. If the screen works. Your playstation has died.

If not, and you have the same issues, try their cables, and if that doesn't work. You have it plugged in incorrectly.

PS3 no longer communicating with TV

All: Try this -

P
erform the following steps to reset the Video Output Settings.
  1. Make sure the HDMI cable is connected to the [HDMI OUT] port on the back of the PLAYSTATION 3 system. Connect the other end of the HDMI cable into the [HDMI Input] port of the TV or display monitor.
  2. While the PLAYSTATION 3 system is in standby mode (red light on the front of the system), hold down the touch-sensitive On/Off button on the front of the system until the system goes into standby mode again . (So the light cycle would go from: red light to --> green light --> then back to red light) This will ensure that you have held down the On/Off button long enough to reset the Video Output Settings.
  3. Turn ON the PLAYSTATION 3 and once the system finishes powering up, the Video Output Settings will automatically reset to the standard resolution (or detect the current display output settings of your TV/monitor). [If resetting does not auto-detect your HDTV, see next step below.]
NOTE: As of system software update version 1.60, the PLAYSTATION 3can automatically detect an HDMI connection to a TV. If the PLAYSTATION 3 is turned on with an HDMI cable connected, the screen for switching video output settings will be displayed automatically. (Does not function unless the TV that is connected by the HDMI cable is turned on.)

As of version 1.80 of the system update for the PLAYSTATION 3, the PLAYSTATION 3 can upscale the video content of PlayStation® format software, PlayStation®2 format software, and DVDs to HD resolution.

If Resetting the Video Output Setting Did NOT Detect Your HDTV Automatically (Certain TV's Only)
With certain televisions, the PLAYSTATION 3 may not automatically detect the HDMI source (TV) which it is plugged into, even after resetting the Video Output Setting (as described above).

If resetting the Video Output Setting did not work, you may need to follow these steps to manually locate the HDMI source:

1. Connect both the AV Cable and the HDMI cable from the PLAYSTATION 3 to the corresponding (AV and HDMI) ports on your TV. 2. Proceed with resetting the Video Output Setting on the PLAYSTATION 3 again. (Follow these steps, then continue to step 3 below.)
3. Turn the TV channel to the corresponding "Input" or "Video" channel for the AV Cable connection.
4. Manually change the Video Output Settings to HDMI. (Follow these steps, then continue to step 5 below.)
5. Now switch the "Input" or "Video" channel on the TV for the HDMI port the PLAYSTATION 3 is currently plugged into.
6. Accept the display settings for HDMI before the timer runs out (30 seconds). Highlight "Yes" and press the X button.
7. You can now disconnect AV Cable from the PLAYSTATION 3 and the TV, as it is no longer needed.

Playstation 2: Blank screen

Try another AV cable, recheck your connections and just try it straight to the TV first without using the sound system and see what happens.
