open My Computer. Go to Tools -> Folder Options. Go to View tab. Select "Show hidden files and folders" and un-tick "Hide protected system files (Recommended)". Accept the warning message, and click OK to accept the changes. Now ALL files are revealed! If your missing files are there - you'll be able to see them, if you can't - they're probably gone!
If you suspect the extensions had changed, search for a filename of any file from the missing ones, and make sure to tick "Search in hidden files and folders" under "More advanced options". Once you find one file, search for it's extension to find the rest (search for "*.???" - without the inverted commas, change ??? with the extension you've found).
Close Ares...go to your Download Folder & delete the Files you want to cancel...restart Ares & they will be gone...If that doesn't help Un-install Ares..go to Program Files & Delete the Ares Folder..now re-install Ares...by deleting the Folder you would be starting over & not overwriting anything that might still be corrupted.
Go here http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php and download the Malware Byttes Anti-Malware Trial Application. That removes all of those Fake Virus Alerts. Just make sure you delete all system restore points aswell when the malware is removed, as otherwise it will just creep back in on the system.
Its is more than likely a software file that is corrupt. it has happened to me so many times. It gets annoying.
The way I solved this problem was removing yahoo messenger completely. Restarting to make sure all parts of the installation was gone. Then I logged on and re-installed Yahoo Messenger.
Your not the only one who's had this problem. It has to do with a corrupt file/entry. Or in the process of shutting down or use something may have gone wrong. I hope this helps. Please rate. Let me know how it goes.
Hmm, I don't work much with VCDs since the advent of DVDs and the ubiquity of CD/DVD dual format drives.
However I think you could do this if you captured the contents of VCD as a stream to hard disk. However this could yield a realllll big file, say 2-4 GB .avi file or worse. I dunno, I have never gone down this road. Then, use Nero to split the file up into smaller parts, or use some other .avi splitter to do it. You may run into file size issues though esp. if you are using trialware to do it.
Then, assemble the clips as you want and burn stuff onto CDs.
I would recommend though going with a DVD instead. You can get pluggable DVD burners for cheap these days at retail or over the web.
