Question about ViewSonic VP171s 17" LCD Monitor
I have an old HP Win 95 PC; want to replace an old CRT monitor with a 4-5 yr old ViewSonic VP171s LCD monitor.
When I hook it up, it boots normally into the OS then I get black and white static-like lines and then this message:
OUT OF RANGE
H Frequency 35 kHz
V Frequency 86.2 Hz
I am using it with the analog input on the monitor of course;tried both analog inputs on this monitor and two different monitor cables and still same problem.
**Didn't happen the first time I did it--used for 10 min on the 1 program I keep the PC for and it ran fine (a DOS program).
Ideas or solutions would be welcomed. Thanks
Your video settings are incorrect for the monitor. Right click on desk top and go into the settings/advance area where you can make monitor adjustments.re resolution and refresh rates.

SOURCE: I am attempting to use
Your monitor probably runs at 60-65khz only(if not adjust the monitor to its highest khz), so make sure the res your trying to accomplish has a matching output.
