I have the same problem, having watched a clip on youtube it seems that you should be asked to get on to the balance board, ours just ells you to get off, even if you aren't on it. It shows a blue light over the top left corner of the image but doesn't allow you to get any further.

I have exactly the same fault. I was using the board and got off for somebody else to have a go. When they tried to start it keeps saying get off and press a even if no one is standing on it. I have tried to reset board but nothing works.

My board worked fine for a month & then I got this same problem. I haven't stepped on it & it tells me to get off.

same here - day 2, three excited kids and grumpy daddy unable to fix problem. "step off and press button a" endless loop. Can bypass by lifting board off floor press "a" then replace on floor but it will add the board weight to yours and I don't think the balance is as good. Maybe best if keep board horizontal when off floor. Appears to consider it's own weight too heavy for zero-ing! Any effective fixes welcome

Same with me. It was my 9th day using the board. I called their customer support number and we tried together to troubleshoot this problem. When it was all said and done, the customer support person e-mailed me a prepaid FedEx shipping label and said to ship it to East Syracuse, NY to have the board repaired. I should have it back in my posession in 11 - 16 days. Hope I don't have this problem again in the future.

We've had two boards have this problem in less than a month so we're now using our third which so far seems okay. Rang Nintendo both times and they said to try and take it back to the shop where you bought it. Luckily the shop took it back both times and replaced it with a new one. Alternatively you can send it back to Nintendo free of charge for repair but obviously you will be without it for a week or two.

I had the same problem, the board is broken and you need to call Nintendo or take it back to the shop you got it from.

I have a wii balance board, the batteries ran out so i changed them -now the board will not work. Ive tried pressing the red buttons together but still no joy. my neighbour is having the same issuses. Why...

    Try these steps!

  1. Insert a Wii Balance Board compatible game disc in the Wii console.

  2. Use the Wii Remote to select the Disc Channel from the Wii Menu, then select "Start" to begin the game. Press the A Button to bypass the wrist strap screen.

  3. Open the small SD Card slot cover on the front of the Wii console.

  4. Remove the Battery Cover on the bottom of the Wii Balance Board.

  5. Press and release the SYNC button on the Wii Balance Board. The blue light on the board will start blinking.

  6. Press and release the red SYNC button on the Wii console while the blue light on the board is still blinking.

  7. The blue light will stop blinking and stay on steady once the syncronization is complete

New crown compatible wii fitness board will not sync with wii console. board only blinks a few times then switches off

Have new crown compatible fitness board, new batteries inserted, inserted Wii fitness disc, choose training, then trial, choose hula hoop game, used remote press A to start.

Screen says place me on a flat floor and press POWER button before stepping onto me

Followed the instructions power button flashes blue, as do the four corners then the lights go out - then nothing happening, still have the same message place flat on floor etc....

Have also tried the Wii Balance Board Check - followed all instructions last one says please turn on power. Pressed button flashes blue as do four corners then they go out

Am I doing something wrong or Is this a faulty board ?

Thanks

Sorry to tell you but it has gone faulty, you need to take it in for repair. There are no serviceable parts inside.

Wii fit board won't work

Hello,

Here you have different procedures on what to do if you get that error message. Please get back to me if nothing works.

The exact procedure is:

• Even if the battery level is strong, try the following:

Remove the batteries in the Wii Fit Board for at least 1 minute…… better 15

Try these steps!

1 Turn the Wii console power OFF by pressing the POWER Button on the front of the console. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet for a few seconds. After a few seconds have elapsed, plug the cord back into the wall outlet.

2 Turn the power of the Wii console ON. When you see the Health and Safety screen, open the small flap on the front of the Wii console to find a red button labeled "SYNC." Press and hold the SYNC Button down for 15 seconds. This will clear all the syncs on the Wii, allowing you to get a clean start to begin the process described below.

3 After holding the SYNC Button on the Wii console down for at least 15 seconds, you can now "re-sync" your Wii Remotes:

a With the first Wii Remote you wish to sync, remove the battery cover on the back of the Wii Remote to find a small red button just below the batteries.

b Press and release the small red button just below the batteries on the Wii Remote; the blue lights on the front of the Wii Remote will blink.

c Quickly press and release the red SYNC button on the inside of the white flap on the front of the Wii console (picture).

d When the Player LED blinking stops and stays lit, the syncing is complete. The LED that is illuminated indicates the player number (1 through 4).

4 Start the game from the Wii Menu, then sync the Wii Balance Board from the opening screen of the game.

Hope it helped.

Wii FIt Battery Problem

The places are not the batteries in the wiifit balance board. Rather they indicate the power left in the batteries in each peripheral. The Balance Board automatically sets to port 4 and the port 1 is for your controller, if you hook up additional controllers they will be in port 2 & 3.
