Problem for Philips CD4451S/05 Phone

Dear sir/madam,
ANSWERING MACHINE NOT WORKING
I have a few months ago received a Philips CD445 digital cordless telephone with answering machine. Since yesterday the handset display mentions that there is 1 message. The base tells me that there is none (00). A "test call' to my telephone number, leaving a message did not solve the problem. No message was recorded. I cannot to undo the red indicator light on the handset which continues to flicker, and on the handset the "one message". Why does it not record messages yet telling met there is one, and why is the red light on the handset flickering? Thank you Christa Balk

- I have the same problem. Plug in the CD 445 for th first time and the red message light is blinking and yet there is not message. We don't use the answering machine with the phone. I can't get rid of the blinking light. Can anyone help? This is ridiculous that so many people are having the same problem.....Heidi

- After connecting the system for the first time, the voicemail icon on all 4 handsets started to blink even though there are no voicemails or messages...the voicemail hadn't even been set up yet. I set up the voicemail and confirmed there were no messages, but the units continue to blink. Not even disconnecting the handsets and letting them charge down helps...the voicemail icon begins to blink as soon as the batteries are put in again again. Any ideas????- GuestBest Solution

The red blinking light is an 'event' light, it does not necessarily mean a message is waiting for you, it will also start to flash if you have a missed call.
click 'up' on the round button to show the missed calls list and it will stop flashing, at least it does on mine!
