Insignia 42" black screen and line problem

When hooked up via its HDMI port on my xbox 360, during gameplay i get horizontal lines that run up the screen, which are very apparent during movement. Also, the bigger problem is that at random the screen goes black for about 5 seconds (sound too) then comes back on. I know it isn't my xbox or the cables because i have tried multiple HDMI cables and the system recently got repaired from the red ring and component cables work fine on it. Further proof of this is that videos from my computer also linked to the tv via HDMI have also started experiencing the line problem, even with multiple media players.

I don't have the horizontal line problem but I do get that random black screen issue. I called xbox support and they told me to change the settiong to 1080i (found under console settings/Display), so far I haven't had any issues. I debating on whether or not I should call for the warranty or not.

I don't have the blank screen problem mind you the tv is only 2 weeks old. I have seen the line problem watching regular channels, not HD. The HD looks great. The line is dead center of the screen and regardless of stretch, zoom or normal it sometimes is visible sometimes not. Some programs are fine when it's not seen at all. Haven't played the play station on it yet, but it works fine with the Wii.

i had geek squad come to he house and they said that this is a firmware problem and insignia doesnt have an update. they even replaced the motherboard but samesitu. no problem withcomponent cables.. You can also try adjusting the xbox 360 to only 1080i resolution and still use the hdmi.It sucks.

Not knowing what capture card you have, I can only guess that you are using the componet video input to the capture card and the composite video out of the Xbox. If you are using HDMI, it could be a bad HDMI cable. This link:

Hook up xbox 360 tv

What kind of receiver? Do you have anything else like DVD player going thru receiver? My receiver has 3 hdmi in and 1 out (to tv) so all those equipment would just go to "hdmi" on tv.
Another way to do it is put your tv on exterior audio... for all sound to go thru your receiver.

My tv goes black and some times frezzes whats cuasing this problem only when im playing my xbox 360 with the hdmi hooked up is there and update cuz im about to break this tv thanks

a couple of things could be happening first Check to make sure that the cable is not being pushed or pulled at ether HDMI port
second The HDMI ports and plugs could be dirt try and blow dust out of the ports and the plugs andthen see if the problem purists
third If the HDMI cable is lower quality or it is old the HDMI cable could need to be replaced a good place to purchase HDMI cables is http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=HDMI+cable&x=0&y=0
Fourth The ports on the back of the TV or on the Xbox could be damaged this is however not likely

Why when i play mw2 i get black lines everywhere

Okay well would you be able to try someone elses game? or even try a dvd? Your Xbox may be overheating and an internal part may be dying. It could be an easy fix, unfortunately I don't have enough information to give you an accurate description. If you still have a warranty you should just call Microsoft.

X box 360 when playing a game red lines run horizontally down the screen and flicker. on the pause menu everythings ok. and tv ok, this happened on fallout3 and tried GTA still there

This sounds more like the video connection. Is it hooked up through HDMI or the component cables. If possible try the other, or see if you can borrow a friends and try to swap to see if that fixes. Also see if there are different ports you can try on the tv.

You need to set the monitor up. I have a 42" LCD TV, and there is a menu where you can set the aspect ratio to 'Auto', 'Full Screen', or "4:3". I had a similar issue with my DVD player. I'm sure if you go through your monitor setup menu, you should be able to solve this problem.
