Cant get the mic to work

i have installed the mikomi m6607m to my laptop and the light for the mic doesnt come on what am i doing wrong?? i have no sound at all.

Normal 0 Go to Control Panel and Click on Sounds, Click on Audio, then Click on the Microphone. Then Click on the drop down and select Camera Microphone.
Click OK and it should work.
