I can't get my camera to work with my messenger program, can you help (AOL, Yahoo, MSN)?

I'm having this exact problem. I don't know what's using it. How do I stop the other program using it?

im havig trouble with my logitech cam i had it working yesterday but when i try to open it with an instant messager it will freeze on me so please help me?

I have a EZ-388 Webcam and could not get the driver to work at all.
The fix I used was goto your system device manager and I let window (win98SE) update the driver and it was a total surprise to me that window found the driver and I now have a working driver that works with all my chat services YIM netmeeting and MS chat

Only one program can access your camera at the same time. (Unless you have special software like WebCam Splitter) If you can see yourself with the software that comes with the camera then the most likely problem is that there is more than one program trying to access the camera at the same time. Make sure that the software that came with the camera is not using the camera.

My webcam will only work with MSN Messenger and not with YAHOO Messenger...can anyone tell me why? I have searched on the web for answers/solutions...but have not been successful! My webcam is iSmart C300 Night Vision Web Cam

If Messenger is crashing when you try to broadcast your Webcam, please
try the following fix:
Shut down Messenger if it is currently running. You will probably have to reset pc as may be frozen
From the Windows Start menu at the left bottom of your screen, click
Run.
From the input area, type regedit and press Enter. The registry editor
application should open.
On the left side, expand the HKEY_CURRENT_USER folder, then
expand the Software folder under it and select Yahoo.
Under the Yahoo Folder select the Pager folder
From the Edit menu click on New, DWORD Value and type Camera Src note space betwwen Camera and the S
Double-click on the entry Camera Src and change the entry in Value data to
1. Then click OK.
Exit the Registry Editor application.
Start Yahoo Messenger

i had the same problem. my cam didnt open instead it says "the webcam is used in another application." i just entered the control panel \ add or remove programs \ windows live essential \ click on repair and when its done restart your pc. and now my cam works fine. maybe this will work with you guys i just wanted to share this tc all goodluck with the new msn (i think it stinks) byeee

i have same problem before on windows live messenger and i found out that having multiple firewall enabled can cause a conflict with my camera...now i can use my msn without having any problem bout my camera... guys try this check if you have multiple firewall on...make sure that your WINDOWS FIREWALL is enable and disable the other security firewall if you have any like norton, and other security protection... GO TO CONTROL PANEL LOOK FOR WINDOWS FIREWALL, TURN ON THE FIREWALL AND LOOK FOR ANOTHER SECURITY PROTECTION THEN TURN OFF THE FIREWALL....i hope this will help you all....i know its very frustrating when you cant see your friend on cam or vice versa even windows couldnt help me with this...so i am glad to share what i have found...enjoy chattin!
