If you are trying to hook it to a pc monitor you will have to get a converter box for the specific type of input. for example VGA,DVI,HDMI, the red, green, blue, is video out. The red and white is audio. You will also need speakers for audio. Most monitor do not have speakers. The type of cable you have for your wii is a component cable. If the monitor is hdmi you will have to make sure it has speakers if not you wont have any audio. So a converter box will be needed.
It sounds like you do not have an open spot for the WII connections. If not, you'll have to get some type of A/B switch so you can select between devices. Most electronic stores (even Walmart) have an auto select switch (for up to four devices) for about $20. You can hook the WII, etc. up to it then hook it up the the TV (assuming) and when you turn the WII on it will auto switch to the WII.
