If you'r not expert fixing laptops send it to repair shop to check screen cable it might be screen data cable problem like it loose or need replacement if this not the problem then Ohhh time to change the screen...Good Luck
Hello, If it shows fine with an external monitor, then you would have to check your screen cable or screen itself. You would need a working one to test it with.
If you have already hooked up an external monitor absolutely its the ribbon cable connecting the LCD to Laptop If its less then a year old get the warranty for replacement
Could be faulty graphics chip or faulty screen. If you can hook up external monitor and picture is fine then probably faulty screen. If external monitor shows same problem the faulty graphics chip. Take to repair shop and let them have a look.
Try this: see if you can find an external monitor, use a VGA cable to hook to monitor...tell me if the lines are still showing on the external monitor...
let me know.
Yes, this is a defective screen. The only fix is to replace the screen. It's called a column of dead pixels. Since it is under warranty, contact HP to have them warranty it out or take it back to the place you purchased it from for an exchange. Please take a moment and give this answer a good rating of fixya. Thank you.
HP has identified a issue with the DV6000Z and monitor. I just reported the same problem to HP and even though off warranty, they will fix free. Power up of DV6000Z you will get 3 beeps and no monitor display. External monitor does not work either. This is a known issue woth the DV6000Z.
