What you need to do is go on a computer, and go to this link... when you get to this website... scroll down to where it says : Burn a DVD or CD... and you can download the files to a disc then follow the directions and you can then put the disc in your xbox 360 and it will download the updates... it's pretty self explanatory once you read it. Oh yeah... the link is : http://support.xbox.com/support/en/us/xbox360/hardware/console/troubleshootingconsoleproblems/downloadingupdatestoconsole.aspx

Tray won't close

Use the following steps to close the disc tray on an original Xbox 360 console.
Step 1: Remove the disc from the tray Step 2: Make sure the faceplate is on correctly
The faceplate is the plastic piece on the front of your console.
  • Press firmly around the edges of your faceplate to snap it into place (make sure it is flush with the rest of the console). If the faceplate is not on correctly, the disc tray won't close.
  • If you find that the faceplate is the problem, please contact Xbox Support to order a replacement faceplate.
If this does not resolve your issue, please try step 3. Step 3: Press the eject buttonTry closing the disc tray by pressing the eject button. If the disc tray successfully closes, open the tray and insert a disc. Now try opening and closing the tray with a disc in the tray.
Note Make sure that the disc isn't sticky and doesn't have any labels that could prevent the tray from closing.
If your disc drive still will not close, please try step 4. Step 4: Move the disc drive tray
  1. Gently move the tray up and down, and then from side to side.
  2. Press the eject button on your Xbox 360 console. If your disc drive still will not close, you need to have your console repaired.
  3. Step 5: Request a repair If the disc tray still won't close properly, your Xbox 360 console needs to be repaired.

Evry time i turn on my xbox 360 it cant find update disc please reinsert the disc. whats wwrong & can it be fix

You may have a corrupt update already, try this
1.Turn off the console and press the sync button on the console
2.still pressing the sync button, turn on the console with the power button
3. when the console has fully booted up, release the sync button
this will clear any corrupted updates.

Still no joy, you can down load updates onto a cd rom, google downloading updates to console aspx.
Remember thumbs up if this helps.

Try to clean out your xbox 360. Or, try to clean the disc with a soft rag and windex. Or, your disc is scratched

Disc errors

If its a modded console, then you need to update your firmware to the newest version.

If its not modded, check the disc for scratches/dirt. Also you can try to delete the local data for that game on your xbox 360 hard drive.

Remember when you do this delete, you lose all downoaded game updates and you need to re-install any you use.
  1. Hold the "A" button while turning the Xbox 360 console on.
  2. Get into the system menu and select "Memory" from the options.
  3. Select the hard drive, and press "Y" to get the device options screen to appear. See a "Rename" and "Delete" options, but don't choose either.
  4. Press the following code in: "X, X, left bumper, right bumper, X and X"
  5. View a message that your Xbox 360 has performed system maintenance. Select "Yes" to confirm you want to delet the cache.
If that still doesnt work, your optical drive may be going bad and having trouble reading.

X-Box 360

You may have to have a broadband internet connection to download the update or the game itself is not compatible. Microsoft did not make it so all Xbox games are compatible with the Xbox 360. Try looking up the games and see if they are playable on the 360.
