Altenator and battery have both been tested good! I have checked the grounding and made sure it was connecting and clean of rust and corrosion. What else can it be?

It could be many things, like a faulty ignition switch, a burned circuit on your dash panel board, any kind of a slow drain (poor ground) in the wiring, but I'd go with the ignition switch if it was me.
This sounds like a bad alternator , maybe it charges at times and other times it does not, check connections to battery and at alternator, also make sure all fuse are good.
Sounds like a wire was broken by the belt somehow. You have some fuseable links and large fuses that power the components on the car. I would look around for a loose wire close to the belt side of the engine, and check the fuses for power.
Check and clean and tighten all battery, starter, and alternator connections. Also the battery and engine to chassis grounds. Did you have the battery " load tested" as a good test requires? Take the battery out and have it charged up. If the alternator is good, you should not have any more problems. But if you need a jump after a few days to start it, then either the alternator or the battery is just not up to par. Have the alternator tested while on the car and running. Good luck.
Bad erarth connection, very cvommon. Firstly check the main ground from the car battery to the car body, then check the black earth wire from the back light clusters to the inside of the boot floor. ensure they have good contacts and have not corroded etc.
Also the light cluster boards on these escort corrode, you may need to remove the back light cluster and clean it up ensure all the bulbs are the correct ones, a wrong bulb can also cause this fault as the earth connection is contacting another.
there is also an earth from the car battery to the gearbox and another 2 going to the starter and the altenator.
Hi
It sounds like you need a new battery, the battery may work the radio but wont have enough power to keep the car going,
Alternatively the altenator may not be charging the battery so that could be the fault.
Lastly check the battery connection from the battery to the car body and the wire leading to the altenator and ensure they all have good tight contact.
A loose earth/ground wire can cause this
