Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Driver issue I have a verbatim 2.0 usb drive. (store n go) I tried to insert it into a vista laptop but it said it needed to install drivers. When I tried to install drivers it said it coudln't find them. I then used it on an xp machine which read it without problem. Why is it not reading on vista? I have tried getting drivers for the correct serial number end (BA) from the website but these would not install either. Please can you help- send me drivers that work or offer a solution? Thanks

USB port is not recognized in any of my computers or in any port.

It seems that the issue is related with the flash drive itself, I have came across with such problems many times. I guess now it's time you should go and ask for a replacement. Most of the flash drives comes with 5 years warranty. You may want to call verbatim customer support for warranty. Contact details

My computer tells me I need to install the driver software for the Verbatim 8 GB jump drive.

Elaina,

That is unusual that Vista would not already have the driver for that device. What you might be able to do is have device manager search the web for the driver automatically.
This video may help (it's for windows 7 but the instructions are virutally thes same): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RbXatmo4QBU

If it says it can't find a driver, then I believe there is an option to have it search the web for the driver. (Does the flash drive have a model number on it by chance?)

Hi i have a verbatim usb harddisk whit 1tb and the usb is 2.0 but my laptop can't find the device and my windows is xp sow can jou help me greetings Zicko hoek

If your drive came with any drivers be sure to install them.
Also note that the Store N Go 97538 is a USB 3.0 HDD. You will require a USB 3.0 port in order to use it.

Please insert disk

Insert the disc that came with it ( if no disc came with it then it should not need one.) If it still insists it needs a disc go the verbatim website and go to the drivers/software/downloads page, and select the model of the pendrive and download the appropriate drivers ( your operating system etc XP or windows 7)

Plug it into the usb port and go to 'my computer' there you will see the drive most likely named verbatim, double click to open it.

Then open a new window and find the file you would like to transfer, simply click on it and drag and drop it into the usb drives window and wait for the file transfer to finish.

I had verbatim 8gb jet flash.when i connect it pc it shows "please insert removable disk" why

My gues is the flash drive is not formatted to FAT32, or the USB port drivers are not installed. What operating system are you running?

Verbatim drive regularly does not show up as available. I have to unplug it and try to get it to reset. do you know how to fix?

Hello!
I checked the Verbatim website for common Windows/USB drive problems. Since I don't know your exact model the information I'm giving is pretty general, but from the Verbatim website it looked like something that could help.

For one, Verbatim says you don't need drivers for your drive to work, but if you're having issues installing their driver might help. Go to their website (Verbatim.com) and in the top left go to "Support". From there you should be able to enter your model and download drivers. The installation instructions are usually on the same page.

The second potential fix is to increase the USB power to the drive. The Verbatim site says that some of their drives require plugging into 2 USB ports to get enough power to run the drive. If this is the case for your drive, you should've gotten a USB cable that is shaped like a "Y". The two wires at the "top" of the "Y" go into two USB ports on your computer. It also said that if even you didn't get the cable you could still be having power issues. You'll have to go to the Support section of the site and enter your model number to see if this could still be the problem.

Good luck! Remember to rate the responses you get!

Need Win98 Driver

Hello Mike

I had the same problem. I found the drive for (Win98SE) I needed on the Verbatim europe site, hope this works for you. Note: make sure you take note of which serial number you have, it is in very small writting on the side of the stick.

Verbatim 8GB Styore N Go USB HD

I feel like the device should show up in "My Computer" unless it is defective. However, there is some Vista Security Software and a downloadable pdf file on the Verbatim Website that describes driver issues with the Store and Go. See URL below

www. verbatim.com.au/products.cfm?productID=99507&cid=2

Normally, these things only need drivers for win98SE
