I have just received an acer one with linux operating system. I have connected the notebook to the house wireless network where it has 100% strength but i keep getting the following message;
'Server not found'
'firefox can't find the server at homepage.acer.com'.
I have disabled the firewall as it suggests but this makes no difference.
Any Clues to where i'm going wrong?
Check the wireless card connections physically. I received a Aspire one that had a wire disconnected from the card itself. if that is in tack find out what driver you are using for your card using "lsmod" see if there are alternatives. Try a live boot USB linux and see if your wireless card functions under that if it doesn't it is hardware if it does it is software. I would switch to another linux like sabayon or ubuntu eeepc versions they function better. I run Sabayon on both of my netbooks. Ubuntu ha sbetter support though.

any ansers yet to the wireless prob.mine was working but ten went of.cant even get onto network centre to reinstall.plz help
Are you able get any other device to work with this router? If you are then try another program that has to use the interenet like an instant messenger. If that works then you need to check your settings in the browser. If you can't get anything to work then you need to check your router settings. Your router may be sending a signal but may not be leasing IP addresses.
