Question about Audio Players & Recorders
Does your device show up as a separate device in windows explorer? If so you may drag and drop files directly onto it.
Alternatively you can download alternative free media players like winamp and rhapsody which do the same job as media player.
If your device does not show up in windows explorer then you may have a usb problem on your Samsung media player. This is most likely to be a hardware fault which I don't know a free/cheap solution to.

SOURCE: S3 won't allow file transfer.
I got the same thing - my computer would charge the device, but not recognize it to allow file transfer. it was the same for all USB ports. I tried using the USB cable from my old Samsung YP-T9, and it actually worked immediately. So it is not the device itself, but the USB cable, for some reason. I don't know how to solve the problem with the YP-S3 cable, though.

You may have to download the converter directly from Samsung's website, especially if you are running a Windows Vista OS.

SOURCE: samsung yp s3 doesnt work on xp
The SOLUTION, that is 99% effective, is to RE- INSTALL the Windows media player version 11. I have the same with this samsung and a SONY Nwz- e438f. But the latter has a cd to reinstall the WMP 11- As soon as I reinstalled it the pc recognized the two players
