First of all thank you for posting your question here at Fixya. Please confirm if the brand and model number above is correct. Blinking of the the LED (yellow and blue) at the front panel indicating that the lamp door cover is not seated properly. This cover will engaged to a micro switch giving the signal to the processor, once it is in open position, the unit will not power up and will experienced that kind of blinking error code. Go back to the lamp door cover and ensure that it is properly seat-in. 3D, 2D, red/green/blue ghost on the picture and letters means that the convergence circuitry gone bad. Symptoms is not connected to the light engine. The faulty parts is the convergence chips(IC). This chips are mounted on the large aluminum heat sink and starts with STKXXXX-XX (X means number). The most common STK chips used on Projection TV's is the STK392-110. You have to replaced them both on the board to resolve the issue(red ghosting). It is necessary also to check the resistance value of the resistors around its circuitry using the multimeter. For more info how to repair a convergence problem, watch the video below.
If the ghosting is like a 3D effect its your convergence ICs , but if its like a blue Halo around objects that usually means your CRT coolant has congealed and will need replacement. The blue is the first tube to congeal for some reason, followed by green. Red seems to be not quite as prone to this. It is a normal occurrence n sets about 4 years old to need the coolant changed.
Hi, if the shadow is colored lines then you probably need the convergence ICs and possible reisitors near them replaced .
If the shadows is just like a ghost of the image or a bar from top to bottom, then check if it does it on every input (dvd for example) , there are blanking bars that you can't see past the edges of the picture and when you have a bad cable signal you can see the ghost of the blanking bar sometimes. if it does it does not show the shadow when watching a DVD then its a signal issue with your cable/satelitte .
If your convergence is the issue, try the adjustments first and if that doesn't correct it, you can replace the ICs using kit # x480293 or stk392-110 (2 ICs) soldered in very technical for even a technician.
repairman cost about $250-$350
hope this helps
Eric

your guns are off and need to be adjusted. your 3 guns (red, green and blue) are off and that would explain the funny colors and shadows. Have a tv tech come out and have a look, they can fix it for a reasonable price.
Your green gun in our tv is misagligned/out of focus. Your tv uses red, green and blue guns that layer in different shades and mix to create the different colors. Your green is a little off so the colors aren't mixing right which explains the green haze and the shadows. A tv repair man can fix this problem pretty easily and it isnt expenisve.
50V500 ONLY GHOST: May be described as "Out of Convergence" but ghost is still attached to main image. CONDITION: A "ghost image" appearing to the left or right of images in the picture. Can be varying shades of a primary color (red, green, or blue) as well as gray. Can easily be seen in the 4 x 3 mode, at the edges of the picture. CORRECTION:
To correct the problem, please do as follows:
Access I2C Menu. (See page 57 of the Service Manual).
To enter the I2C Service Menu, with power off, (on the front control panel) press and hold the INPUT button. Then press the POWER button for two seconds. The following Service Menu will appear.
Figure 1
BEFORE CONTINUING: CONFIRM THAT THE R, G and B DRIVE ARE SET AT 40.
Be sure to press SELECT after each change to SAVE the new Data.
Using the Remote Control joy stick, scroll down to next page (see Figure 2) until LCD ADJUST is highlighted.
Figure 2
Move the joy stick to the right to cursor right once. The next page will appear with the word GHOST highlighted.
Cursor right again, and a white screen will appear with a BLACK SQUARE in the center, as in Figure 3.You will see LCD ADJUST, followed by “SHP” and a number (value).
Figure 3
If the unit is out of adjustment, you will see a gray ghost on either side of the black square. Move the joystick to the right or to the left until the ghost disappears. The number values will change up or down.
If the ghost adjustment is off with a lower value, there will be a ghost to the left of the square.
If the ghost adjustment is off with a higher value, there will be a ghost to the right of the square.
Once you get the square to look good without ghosts, press "SELECT" to save any data values that have been changed.
Press the "EXIT" button three times to return to normal picture.
Check settings first to make sure no one changed anything out of the ordinary. Are the shadows that of a color or darkened shadow? It could be out of convergence, which can be corrected in the menu - or it could be low quality video cables to. Also, if there is no green, does a white color show up when you're in a menu mode (Red+Blue+Green = White Image)? If so, then the green picture tube is working and it's just a color adjustment, otherwise you may have to invest in a new green picture tube.
how old is the tv ??
if this tv is older than 5 years it may need to refill the liquid on the proyection bulbs and/or could have contaminats in the fluid causing the ghost and to fix that you will need a professional person to do it
