Try unplugging it and plugging it back in when the game turned on. this worked for me. Good luck. I can't get my guitar to sync. Brand new rock band and no guitar. not a fun christmas for the kids.

you need a wii remote for each instrument and the microphone. you need one remote for the drums, one for the bass guitar player, one for the guitar, and one in close proximity to the microphone user. you have to set a wii remote near the microphone once the microphone is plugged into the USB port in the back of the wii console. i think there is something like a 10 foot radius meaning if the wii remote is too far from the microphone it will disconnect. so you can do only one instrument per wii remote you are using.
yes you need a seperate controller and make sure u plug the mic in a usb port on the back of the wii and for star power u tap the top of the mic.
plz rate
if you look in the front on the drums there is a light hole and thats where you put the mic
you have to have a new type of mic not the 1 with the volume on the bottme and you cant talk with the mic on guitar you have to have a guitar hero 3 guitar to talk on guitar
