Rock Band Guitar -- flashing lights only -- won't connect

Just got Rock Band for the Wii and the guitar will not connect. We have tried connecting it every possible way. The light on the usb dongle thing just flashes as does the light on the guitar. The drums and the microphone work but the guitar is not cooperating....any help would be appreciated.

The Wii Rock Band Guitar was working fine until it simply turned off, when we turn the power button (the one that is near the battery compartment) to the off position and back to ON again, the 4 lights on the front of the guitar flashes one time only and that's it, the guitars goes dead again.

    Would you please help me!!!!!!

Hi!!! I had the SAME problem! My guitar would just blink and never sync with the wii. I finally got tired of waiting to hear from EA games for a replacement and took the thing apart! I was able to find the problem. One of the connections on the board was loose! If I pressed down on the loose connection it would sync! I had my husband re-solder it and now it works great! I've attached a picture of which connection was loose.

The guitar won't work, but when press the reset button, the light flashes

it could be that you need to recharge/replace the batteries. otherwise it may be that the wireless adapter connected to the wii isn't working right. try hooking the setup up to another console. if it works, the problem is with the wii, otherwise, you may need a new guitar/adapter.

Guitar Hero Guitar with Rock Band disc

It depends on which version of Rock band you are playing, Rock band 1 will not work with Guitar Hero guitars at all, but Rock Band 2 on the wii will except them. and for the microphone you have to have a seperate wiimote sync'd up tho count as the controller for the the game to recognize the mic.

Rockband special edition for wii....guitar lights and usb light is flashing

Make sure that the Guitar Wireless receiver, microphone, and drums are connected to the USB hub provided with Special Edition. Ensure that the foot pedal is connected to the drum set. Then, perform the following:

1) Ensure you have fresh batteries in the Wireless Guitar
2) Insert receiver into USB hub
3) Turn on Guitar via switch on back.
4) If both the guitar and the USB receiver is flashing blue, then press the guitar logo button until flashing blue light on the receiver stops flashing.

Good luck!

Lights flashing on guitar and usb

If you are using the Fender Stratocaster Rock Band Guitar:

1) Ensure you have fresh batteries in the Wireless Guitar
2) Insert receiver into USB hub
3) Turn on Guitar via switch on back.
4) If both the guitar and the USB receiver is flashing blue, then press the guitar logo button until flashing blue light on the receiver stops flashing.

Note that on Rock Band 1, non-Rock Band guitars (ie: Guitar Hero and Wiimote based guitars) generally don't work.

Good luck!

Rock Band for Wii, guitar not working, the lights blink. Tried two sets of new batteries.

Rock Band's guitar has been identified as a generally unreliable piece of hardware http://support.ea.com/rockband

EA has guaranteed an exchange for the defect hardware.

Alternatively some people have reported regaining syunchronisation by holding down all the white buttons on the guitar simultaneously to re-establish the connection.

Hope it helped - Dont forget to rate

Rock band guitar will not sync to wii

For me it was the white box that connects to the back of the wii. I tried everything from changing batteries in the guitar, to pressing white button on guitar, to restarting while holding white button down to screaming at the wii. Then I bought a new rockband guitar at best buy and the new guitar did not work until I swapped the white box (dongle?) that connects to the back of the Wii. One is for the drums and the other is for the guitars and mic. Hope this helps.

Connect a guitar hero guitar as a second guitar to rock band

This cant be done for the wii sadly because the guitars can not be switched, so you would have to use 2rock band guitars for rock band and 2Gh controllers for Gh.
