Xbox 360 Controller Disconnects ever time I hit the Right Trigger

Every time i hit my right controller in any game, it holds it down for a sec (in game) then disconnects my controller.

Does anyone have a remedy for this problem?
It is very annoying since I only own one controller :(

Thanks
Andrew

Xbox 360 controller right trigger always activates

There are a couple things you should try before buying a new controller. First, make sure that when you start your pc or xbox 360 that you are not pressing the trigger, as this can make it stick while it is on. Next, you can try to plug in/turn on the controller and then plug out/turn off the controller a few times in a row, this may work also. If neither of those work, then you could still try with a different console or pc, and if the problem persists to those, I would think about buying a new controller.

My xbox 360 wired controller's right trigger is always activating without it being pressed

If the potentiometer for the trigger is bad or is not making good contact with the circuit board, say through a poor solder connection, this could be your problem. If the controller isn't getting any signal from the electronic trigger component it sees that as a pressed trigger and becomes grenade happy. This has happened to me.

How to reset xbox360 dashboard

To reset Xbox 360 console display settings

If there is a disc in the console, remove it.
  1. Turn off the console.
  2. Turn on the console by using your controller. To do this, press and hold the controller's Xbox Guide button until your console turns on.

    Collapse this imageExpand this imagecontlrftbtn.jpg

Note If multiple controllers are connected to your console, make sure that you use the player one controller. You can recognize the player one controller because the upper-left quadrant of the Guide button is lit up on that controller.

  3. While the console is starting, press and hold the Y button and pull the right trigger at the same time. Continue holding the buttons when you see the Xbox 360 logo.

    Collapse this imageExpand this imageyandtriggercontroller.jpg

The console will restart and you will see the Xbox 360 logo again.

The console's display settings are now reset to the defaults.

Xbox 360 controller turns off at random, yet has new batteries

The battery indicator found when pressing your xbox logo button is temperamental. It might say 2 bars, or 3 or even full battery but this is not a good indicator of a full battery.

The problem IS low batteries(or more specifically - bad batteries) - when the batteries become low the vibration function can cause the controller to disconnect. This is happens because the vibration function uses extra battery power.

So basically... Every time your controller vibrates, it disconnects. This occurs when firing a weapon in most games, grenades in COD, landing heavy tricks in Skate 2, the list goes on, you'll find many complaints from people stating their controller disconnects specifically with these events.

The simple solution, turn off the vibration function when this occurs. It'll never happen to you again ^_^

Thumbs this up when it proves correct for you. I'd recommend a recharge while you play pack. ALWAYS by the official products too. They're much more reliable and aren't prone to this kind of behaviour.

My character can't stop shooting!

Reboot your 360 and just sit the controller down till it is done rebooting. If you even brush a button during the booting it can do crazy things.

Video output on wrong setting and cant see screen

for PS3, hold the power button for at least 5 seconds or until you hear a second beep.

for Xbox 360,
Turn the console on.
Note If you are using an Xbox 360 Wireless Controller, turn the console on by using the Xbox Guide button on the controller.
Note Make sure that you use the player 1 controller when you do this. The player 1 controller is the controller where the upper-left quadrant light is on.
As the console starts, press and hold the Y button, and then pull the right trigger at the same time. This causes the Xbox Dashboard to reset the display settings to the default settings and then automatically restarts the console. So it's OK when the Xbox 360 console restarts.

Xbox 360 Controller right trigger doesnt work

Your controller is most likely exhibiting a hardware failure. Taking apart the device voids your warranty. When a button does not work anymore, it is safe to say that you will need to buy a new controller.

The Logitech Chillstream Gamepad is only $20 and works in the same fashion as the XBOX 360 Controller (uses the same xb360 XInput controller driver too!)

Give that a look.

Xbox 360 problem

Try this:

1. Remove any discs from the disc tray. 2. Turn the console off. 3. Turn the console on.

Note If you are using an Xbox 360 Wireless Controller, turn the console on by using the Xbox Guide button on the controller. Make sure that you use the player 1 controller when you do this. The player 1 controller will have the upper-left quadrant light illuminated. 4. As the console starts, press and hold the Y button, and then pull the right trigger at the same time. 5. The Xbox Dashboard resets the display settings to the default settings, and then automatically restarts the console.
