You should be able to just ground the parking brake wire, but some HUs require a switchable or auto pulse signal. so you can either connect the wire and a ground to a two-way toggle switch and just switch it on and off, <--------for kenwoods or just buy this auto switcher that goes through the switching sequence automaticly once you power up your unit.<--------for Kenwoods. I know that for Pioneers if you want to use the togle switch, you Must switch OFF:ON-OFF-ON. to "trick" the unit. so a auto pulse is worth buying for the Pioneers.

If you want to watch videos on your unit it is necessary to bypass the parking brake wire from the Kenwood unit. The parking brake wire is light green and the best possible way to bypass the unit is by installing a toggle switch. The toggle switch should be a two wire device. Connect one wire to ground and the other wire to the parking brake wire from the unit. This will allow you to switch the supply on the wire to ground when needed.
Also, in some older Kenwood units you could just as easily connect the parking brake wire to ground and be done with it but, it does not always work.
This is ok, it is trying to protect you from losing focus on your driving. It is asking for you to pull the parking brake up so that you wont drive while watching a movie, it is against the law to drive while watching TV in a moving vehicle, you must be parked to watch, it is possible to bypass the P-Brake so that you can watch as you drive but it then becomes a technical issue which is too long for me to guide you through here and most car audio shops will not do it for you due to liability reasons if you get into an accident, they dont want to get sued.
you have to bypass the parking brake safety switch. Basically, right now it is wired to the ground on your parking brake. Figure out where it is by following the wire from the head unit. Disconnect it, and connect the parking brake wire to the ground for the radio itself.
On bypasses you can either hook the parking brake wire straight to ground, if that does not work you can install a toggle switch between the parking brake wire and ground so you can mimic the parking brake on off.
There should be an option on your head unit to turn safe mode off. If this fails, you need to trace the parking brake wire that runs from your head unit back to the parking brake switch and disconnect it. This is illegal in some contries and therefore not recommended.
I just spliced the brake wire into my cigarette lighter positive wire to provide the voltage necessary to bypass the parking brake requirement for video. Worked like a charm. It takes almost no voltage to bypass it. Even just licking your fingers and holding the bare wire allows video to show.
