From description, the TV looks like it is on protection.

This is a special diagnostic mode that starts when an internal fault is detected.

Try unplugging power cord, and leaving the cable unplugged for one or two hours, to reset the protection circuit.

If this does not works , call a repairman, as some component inside the TV has blown, and the TV need to be tested by a technician to find out the fault.

".I would also like to know how to repair it"

To repair it you need to test internal parts following troubleshooting diagrams from manual.

You do this mainly using a mutimeter, and you need to have study and several years practice to do this without endangering yourself and your family (a badly repaired electronic can take fire or kill by electric shock), or causing more damage to the TV.

If you did not even know what protection was, that means that you have not sufficient base knowledge to repair your TV. I am sorry, but safety is a serious issue.

There is nothing here that let think it is the mainboard, hi have seen already somebody else wasting good money on a mainboard while something else was faulty.

On this kind of tv the most common fault is the inverter if you want, welcomejee had not been reported for giving bad and dangerous advice just because itis christmas.

Enjoy holidays everybody, and to the user, if you think this is clever, replace the mainboard, my advice is to have the tv checked, 9 on ten it is not the mainboard.

Hi, to start apologies to welcomejee and everybody for my excessive rudeness on first post, it had bin a bit impulsive.

On the fault I think that a faulty PSU, or a badly shorted inverter, and even more faults can cause the same.

There are a list of test that must be done reading voltages and testing components, they are all descripted on the service manual. As I said some of the tests may be risky, particularly if they must be done with live power. And it is also easy to do more damage.

Sure replacing the main you have fifty percent to fix it , as it has many component integraeted, but you play on the $150 you pay for the board.
    The choice is yours

    Have a nice day everybody

Here is the part list, also ask them for the service manual.

Hello marcuswells

Something internally is probably broken in the lcd tv if you have sound and if you replace the power supply and there is no change. The other option to look into is the motherboard, but someone needs to open it to confirm what is actually wrong in this situation. If it is the screen itself, you will be buying a new tv. Also, did you buy an extended warranty as it should still be good. Vizio has very good customer service if you don't want to open and test it yourself. They will respond very quickly to any parts requests or anything you need for specifics. Again, I'm sorry I can't tell you for sure what is wrong but please look into the above (power supply, motherboard, and screen as one of these 3 is the most likely problem with this situation) Let me know if you have any more questions through this process. good luck

Merry Christmas

well, if its Vizio L37HDTV10A model then you need to replace main board because digital processor seems defective and thats why TV doesn't response.

You can get main board from Shop Jimmy.

Replacement of board is very easy, open rear cover of TV, unplug connectors of main board, unscrew it and place new board, put connectors in new board, put back cover on TV and job is done.

Vizio Model SV320SVT powers on, after Vizio splash screen it goes blank. Power stays on, but no backlight on screen.

Yes its very repairable as long as the logo stays white you can assume the main boards good. I would recomend contacting the people at www.tvrepairworld.com by hitting the contact us button from their website. They will be able to assist you in finding out whats happening with the set for free. They have most parts available as well.

Vizio TV (L37) will power up but no picture

The backlight is powered by its own supply (although it may receive input from the main supply) and it sounds like the main supply or one of its outputs has failed disabling the video and sound processing.
