Anyone know how to check messages using remote access?

I have the remote access code on my machine, however I just can't seem to figure out how to get the machine to play back the messages. Anyone have instructions on how to do this? Thanks!

Changing the Remote Access Code The Remote Access Code is preset to 500. You can change the Remote Access Code to any three-digit number from 500-999. DO NOT pick the same number as that assigned to the Priority Calling Code. 1 Press g. The Message Window displays CH. 2 Hold down c for at least two seconds. The system announces "First digit." 3 Press / or ? to change the digit. 4 When the Message Window displays the desired first digit, press c. The system announces "Second digit." 5 Press / or ? to change the digit. 6 When the Message Window displays the desired second digit, press c. The system announces "Third digit." 7 Press / or ? to change the digit. 8 When the Message Window displays the desired third digit, press c. The system announces the new Remote Access Code.

Remote access for machine

This come from a previous model than I have (mine is a ol5870), but seems to work for this one in retrieving messages from another phone.

Default access code is 0000 if you haven't changed it (but you should); when answering machine answer dial in the 4 digit code while the outgoing message is playing.

Once in dial 1,2, or 3 to play messages (mail box number I believe)

You can dial * for a help menu

4 Repeat a message
44 Ignores a message (message won't remote retrieve next call)
6 plays next message (skip to next)
7 Deletes message
8 Lets you record a memo
9 Let's you change the outgoing message (5 stops the recording)
0 Toggles answer on/off

I hope this helps some people at least in part.

Cant get remote access working Binatone Symphony 2210 cordless ph

If you have set up the TAM settings correctly then it seems to be a fault with the machine. I've set up my TAM settings with new pin and I still can't remotely access the messages.

Make sure you are pressing the * key before you enter the default code (as far as I can recall).

I have at&t digital answering machine 1717 and lost manual

The code it usually set up by you on the device, if you run through the set up procedure (Time Date, message) on your machine one of the steps is the remote access code, which the machine should read off to you at this point, you should change this to a code you can easily remember and not leave it at the factory defaut as this would leave your messages openly accessable to other parties.

Hope this is of some help.

Wanted to know if i can check messages by calling in

CLICK HERE for the user manual.

The following is on Page 19....

You can access your answerer from any touch-tone phone
by entering your 4-digit security code (the default security
code is 0123). The remote functions do not work with rotary
or push-button pulse-dialing phones. You can cut out the
wallet-size remote card near the back of the User’s Guide
so you know the touch-tone commands when you're
picking up messages from another location.
To access your answerer:
1. Call your telephone number.
2. After you hear the beep that follows the greeting,
enter your 4-digit security code. To bypass the
greeting, you can enter your 4-digit security code at
any time while the greeting is playing.
3. The unit plays the remote menu after the correct
security code has been entered. Menu selections can
be made at any time while the menu is playing.

NOTE: The unit answers on the 10th ring when it is
turned off or the memory is full. To access the
answerer, enter the 4-digit security code after the
beep. If memory is full, play messages and erase
some of them to restore memory. If the answerer is
off, press 2 to turn it on.
NOTE: After the unit plays the remote menu, it will
wait several seconds for a command, then disconnect

Thank you for using Fixya - a FixYa rating is appreciated!!

Remotely check answering machine

Try 0 (zero) plus your "PIN" code.

For instance, if your display shows your code is 98, then dial 098 to access your messages remotely.

This is how our Uniden DXAI5588-3 wireless digital answering system works anyhow.

Good luck!!
