Measure the room, then multiply the length by the width to get the square feet you want to heat. multiply this by 10 and that is the watts you need to heat the room assuming you are using standard 220/240v baseboards.

### How to set heat for baseboard heat

They use a 120v thermostat you should be able to buy one wherever you bought the baseboard heaters. Be aware those heaters costs a lot of money to run and dry out your house like a desert buy a few room humidifiers when you get the thermostat. Make sure you use the correct size wiring to the baseboard heaters and the Tstat if you undersize the wires for the breakers involved you'll more than likely cause a electrical fire.

### If i have a room 16x24 how big of a electric baseboard heater do

It is not the size of the room that is important it is the heat loss of said room. If it is a inside room, with no outside walls, it will take less btu's to heat and maintain comfort levels, where as if it is a room with floor to ceiling windows, you will obviously need more btu input. Hope this helps.

### How do i know what size baseboard heater to use in any given room.

Basically each baseboard should be rated for a particular heat output...Watts...which should have an equivalent to square footage...look in the Specs or askj the Supplier....and that will vary on the Heat loss of each particular room...how big the windows are....how well insulated the room is etc

### How to size a room for baseboard.

HERE YOU GO CALCULATE THE HEAT @ 10 WATTS PER SQUARE FOOT , TAKE THE LENGTH X WIDTH X 10 AND THIS WILL TELL YOU THE AMOUNT OF WATTAGE YOU NEED . MOST ALL BASEBOARD HEATERS ARE RATED @ 250 WATTS PER LEN FT AS TO SAY A EX. A 4FT HEATER IS 1000 WATTS , MOST OF THE THERMOSTATS ARE RATED @ 20 AMPS AS IS THE 12-2-WG WIRE TO RUN TO HEATERS AND THERMOSTAT DIVIDE THE TOTAL WATTAGE BY THE LINE VOLTAGE USUALLY 240VOLT IN US .AND THIS WILL TELL YOU THE CURRENT DRAW ----WHICH CANNOT EXCEED 20 AMPS ON 12-3-WG AND THAT IS THE LIMIT OF THE THERMOSTAT AS WELL THESE STATES APPLY 99% OF THE TIME I DO REALIZE THERE ARE EX BUT HAVE USED THESE FORMULAS FOR 35 YEARS OF DOING MY WORK AND THEY DO FINE

### A buzzing noise

Why do you say put in line to stop the buzzing? What is it that tells you the wire is creating the buzz?

It could be anything from a loose sheet metal part, rivet, fan, transformer, loose connection, or just the way it was built, although a loud buzz sounds like a problem waiting to happen to me.

No there is nothing to put in line to make it quit buzzing, I need to know all the information about the device, voltage, amps, brand, and then tell me how it is wired including number of wires, size of wires, voltage, how it is wired to what colors, how far from breaker, what breaker and size, and anything else that seemed unusual to you during install if anything.

### Baseboard heaters

measure each room you want to heat. multiply the length x width, this will give you the square footage of the room to be heated, multiply that by 10 and that is the number of watts needed to heat the room using 220/240v baseboards.
