Def. sounds like a software driver problem - but not for the spkrs - but for the sound card. Do a "Windows Update", selecting "Custom" in lieu of "Express". After it inventories which updates apply to your system, over on the left of the screen, click on "Hardware Updates" - see if there are any drivers listed for your sound card. Select them, and click on "Install Updates". If not, determine *exactly* which sound card you have, go to the manuf. website, look for drivers for Windows XP, download/install.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Try re-formatting the usb flash drive. Try FAT32. If that doesn't work try NFTS. After you plug the usb drive into copmuter locate it in My Computer and right click it. Click on format.WARNING this will delete all information on the device.

Is there anyway to fix a blown Bose Speaker (201)?

The only 2 solutions are: 1. Just find an equivalent driver to replace. Re-wire new driver speakers into the enclosures. The old 201s may have had decent drivers (although probably paper cone) for back then, but now just about anything will sound as good in those particular cabinets.
2. Call Bose and exchange them for current 201 speakers (higher clarity more powerful). Bose will give you about 30-40% off I believe on a series 5 model. They now pay for inbound and outbound shipping as well.

Are you useing a digital coaxil cable? or optical cable?(you will need one of these connections to get 5.1 surround!) the white /red rca jacks will not do the 5.1 surround! (back speakers)
