Question about Audio Technica ST90MKII Dynamic Microphone with Clip Microphone

Open Question

No sound gigaware clip on microphone is not working. It plugs into the pink plug of my dell with a mini-plug. Why doesn't it work? The computer uses soundblaster as it's system. I've tried many adjustments. The speakers are OK otherwise and play normally.

The easiest way to do it properly would be to use a small mixer, with an adapter cable from the outputs (usually 1/4") to the line-in of the laptop (usually 3.5mm stereo).

I have a Sennheiser E815S microphone and I want it to work on my PC( Compaq) what can I do to get it to work and sound coming out from it

The Sennheiser E815S is a dynamic microphone so should be fine to use with your computer, although the output level may not be very high.
The connection on the rear of the mic is a 3 pin (balanced xlr) but a standard microphone input on a pc is a 2 pin (mono) unbalanced 2.5mm jack socket. Mini jack plugs are a pain to solder and the thick balanced (sleeve plus 2 cores) cable is unlikely to fit inside the plug anyway so you would do better to buy a pre-made on than try to make your one (it would probably work out cheaper too).
Try to avoid using plug to plug adapters as they are prone to problems.
To use any microphone with your computer you will need to enable it in control panel. The following instructions are for Windows XP but are broadly similar for Vista and Win7
In the Sounds & Audio Devices Properties window locate the SOUND PLAYBACK box and click the VOLUME button. Make sure that there is not a tick (check-mark) in the MUTE box against microphone in the list of devices and that the volume slider is at the top of the scale.
Also make sure that the MUTE ALL box isn't checked before closing the window.
Now click the VOLUME button in the SOUND RECORDING BOX. Here you need to SELECT microphone as an input source for recording (as opposed to un-checking mute in the playback controls).
NOTE if microphone is not listed in the 2 sets of volume controls click OPTIONS, PROPERTIES on the tool-bar and place a check against microphone in the list entitled 'show the following volume controls' and then click OK.
That should be it.
However - if you cannot get enough volume on the microphone you may need to purchase a pre-amplifier to boost the signal strength before input to the computer.

Is this a USB Mocrophone? If not, it will not show up any differently in your sound device manager.
If is is a 3.5mm headphone jack style mic, plug it into the pink connector on the back of your computer. If you are using Vista or Windows 7 right click the sound (volume) icon on your task bar. Select recording devices, then when the window pops up, try tapping the mic. When you locate the device that shows activity on the meter, right click it and select, make default device, and make defualt communication device. From here you can open the properties of that device and set the recording volumes to whatever you like. Your mic should now work with any applications that can use it, such as Skype.

I plugged my Microphone in the pink slot and it doesn't work on Vent, nor does my computer picks up the microphone

Make sure the Front Pink In is enabled.

Find the Volume icon in your Taskbar (little speaker, Right Click - Open Volume Control) or in Control Panel / Sound and Audio Devices. Find Device Volume / Advanced and uncheck the Front Pink In Mute box and slide the volume UP.

How do u get hsm wii microphone to work on

well ..i cant see what type of conection you mic has and what you really want to achieve as far as quality of sound or ultimate use.., are some ideas.. A mic needs a pre amp and that is often built into some cheap but usable mini mixers made by behringer..You could pick up one and a good cheap dynamic mic[dynamic mics are best close to the sound source] with a lead and then go from the main output of the little mixer to the audio input of the computer.. A second but easier way and one that could give very good results is purchase a USB input microphone and this will have mic pre amp built in so it just plugs into your computer usb port.. SE electronics ,Rode make brilliant ones that are used often for podcasting..[well worth the +-100 uk pounds] but i am confident that berhinger will make a usable model for much less money[these type usb condensers will be sensitive and give clear results]...

Has the microphone got a small pink jack plug?
if not could you describe the "plug end" please!

I hope this has been of some help.

Either way i will be able to guide you through this!!
