Flash is not firing

Very little to go on, but in every camera you can switch off the possibility to flash. How to switch it on must be very easy, because it is always in the top menus of every camera. Looking on the back of your camera, with the menu on, you should see a flash symbol, with a bar through the symbol, then it is off. Try to switch it on. If the symbol is on (without bar) look if it is dark enough so the flash should work. You also could try to reset the camera to the default settings. But is the flash still does not work something else could be wrong. Just try an external flash. If it does nothing, after you tried everything above, I can't think of anything else. Success.

Well, try to go through your menus to understand what the problem is. Also, check to see what mode you are one. It is possible that that mode is preventing auto-flash. Good Luck!

My flash does not seem to be working, I tried just about everything but it wont work. it all started when I pressed reset im pretty sure, but im not postive. please help me.

Pressing reset would not disable your flash. On the screen, does a lightning bolt icon appear? Is there a letter A or the word auto next to it? Or does the lightning bolt have a diagonal line through it? In any case, press the button on the back of your camera with the picture of the lightning bolt until the lightning bolt with "A" or "auto" appears next to it on the screen.

Flash has stopped working on my Nikon D40. I've tried a factory reset, tried to get to the flash setting but that menu option is no longer available (highlighted) in any mode. I'm thinking it's broken...

There's a common problem in the flash arm. I found this link that shows a simple repair. If you use this and make the repair yourself, understand that you will void your warranty if you have one. Also, do not touch the bulb as you'll get oil on it, and don't touch the solder points on the wiring, you'll get zapped.

Flash stopped working

Have you tried to reset the camera to its factory defaults to see if it is a setting that is causing the flash not to fire? To reset the camera go to the menu left arrow to reset - highlight yes and press ok. This will set the camera back to factory settings. See if the flash fires now. If it does then, good. If not, then it is a repair issue with the flash assembly internally in the camera.

Flash problems

What you are saying is that the flash will not flash. (go off), if I understand correctly.
First, make sure that the flash is on.
The flash can be turned off in most modes.
Another thing to try is to RESET ALL in the menu.
Then go back and set all the options like you want.
If the flash will not work in any mode, and you cannot get it to work, you may want to sell it on some site as Ebay, and offer it for repair, as is, or parts.

Help flash Nixon coolpix L11

make sure when you press the round selection button on the back of the camera flash option, you press the ok in the center of the button on the back.

it will show brief yellow AUTO in the LCD screen upper right corner for a sec.

when you are going to take a picture holding the shutter button half way down, you should see up at the right corner outside of the LCD screen a red led flashing to indicate flash is ready.

one thing to try if this is not working, find the camera reset option in the menu. after doing this you may have to reset the date & time. it will bring the camera back to default settings

on the bad side if these dont work, possible flash circuit may have failed inside the camera.

good luck!

Flash rebound

A camera flash against a glass, or any reflective surface, will bounce the flash light right back at you. Turn off flash when shooting through glass. Note flash is only for shots less than 12 ft distance. It take it you are shooting scenery shots through vechicles or buildings, ie, long scenery shots anyway, so flash does nothing but bad things.
