-   Tub won't agitate or spin. Does turn on and the water will fill and drain. The belt is intact. Does not smell burning, but the motor sounds like it's stuggling. Right now I hate this machine and the place where I bought it.-   Guest

-   The washing machine races through the cycles
and does not spin at all. We have tried running
the machine with different wash load sizes but
it doesn't make a difference.-   Guest

-   Have the same problem. The motor smells like it's overheating. The water pump turns freely, the transmission looks fine inside it goes around and the shaft moves back and forth one way and the other when you turn the electric motor by hand. The agitator was moving real slow and then stopped all together and motor smelled. There was a bunch of change under the agitator when I took it apart. Could we have burned up the motor?
Also how freely should the drum turn when everything else is out of the machine?
Thanks,
This is an old question but probably pops up a lot so here's an answer for anyone searching:
I agree with Bomber, sounds like motor coupler. You can get the part on line at RepairClinic.com.
Tip the washer over on it's right side after taking off the hoses and unplug (of course). Support the top on a footstool (or some object that won't break or slip) so you don't have to lift it off the floor when you raise it. Have a towel or two ready when the hoses start dripping.
Look at the area between the motor and the gear box. If the nylon coupler is broken it will be in pieces.
There is a hose in the way; squeeze the wire clamp and remove the right side of the hose. Catch the water with a towel.
There is a thin metal strap holding the motor against the gear box and secured with a screw. I took off the screw with a small 8mm wrench. the strap then pops right off.
Pull the motor apart from the gear box and remove the two nylon "spiders" and the rubber grommet between them.
Replace with the new parts and reattach the strap and the hoses and your done. Very easy. Don't drop the washer on your foot and you've saved a bundle in repair costs.
check the carbon brushes in motor .there is one on either side.pull them out they should be plastic holders with black chalky things in end(carbon) if one(or both) is dull they need changing

Try to see if the washer's electric motor and transmission coupler is broke. If so you can simply get a new one from your dealer and fix it your self in a bout one hour. Part is about 15.00 bucks or so Good luck
Over-loaded? Sometimes it helps when you actually weigh your dirty linen. Try to limit with machine's capacity (which u will find in users'manual)

1.water not filling due to clogged filter at intake valve pour few mugs of water in detergent case if it starts spinning fault in intake valve. 2. hydraulic switch checks if water is filled or not may be at fault.
3. broken or slipped V belt open rear case to check. 4. circuit board fault
if still not solved call a pro.

If motor seems to start to work then gives up, try looking at the rear of the motor. There is a magnet screwed into the shaft. This spins inside a sensor that tells the controller how fast the motor is running. The magnet slowly unscrews itself so does not sping with the motor shaft. The contro unit then thinks the motor or drum is stuck so turns off the motor power. Solution, prize off the sensor from end of motor and screw magnet back into shaft. For a better fix use some threadlock to stop it happening again. Hope this helps - worked twice for me - hence use of threadlock now. Mat
