This player goes to sleep very fast. If it does, just press the center button to wake it back up.

Hi,you need to rest your mp3 player...

How to Reset a Sansa Clip

The Sansa Clip is a high-quality MP3 player. It holds hundreds of songs and is built for portability. The "clip" allows you to attach it to your clothing or belt while you are working out or on the go. Even the best MP3 players can encounter some problems, and the Sansa Clip is no exception. If your Sansa Clip freezes up and does not respond, you may have to try resetting or reformatting it.

Instructions

Complete Reset

Turn Sansa Clip on. Press the "Menu" (home) button.

Press the bottom of the scroll wheel until you reach the "Settings" screen. Push the center button to choose "Settings."

Scroll down to "Reset All" and select. You'll be asked to confirm the reset. Select "Yes." This option will simply allow you to reset the language and location settings on your Sansa Clip. It will not erase data from the clip. To do a complete factory restore, follow Steps 4 and 5.

In the "Settings" menu, scroll down until you reach "Format" and then select. You will be asked to confirm that you wish to format. Select "Yes."

Wait for the screen to say "Formatting Complete." You have now cleared all the files from your Sansa Clip and reset it to factory settings.

Resetting a Frozen Sansa Clip

Push the power button up and hold it for 20 seconds. Release it, then turn it on again.

Go to the Sansa website and download the "Sansa Firmware Updater."

Select "Run" when the updater installs. (Installation will take less than two minutes.)
.

Wait for the Sansa Firmware Updater to run through its system test. It will ask you to connect the Sansa Clip to the computer to update your Sansa's software.

Connect the Sansa Clip. Remove it from the computer when instructed. If this process does not unfreeze your Sansa Clip, contact Sansa support at the Sansa Firmware Updater website.

My Sansa Clip won't work. When I turn it on it says: Not enough space for music DB Please free 30 MB. But when i connect it to my computer it doesn't register. PLEASE HELP ME

Because you drag 7 drop songs or files too much into the sansa clip in MSC mode, it causes like that.
Turn it on, it will show " Not enough.....free 30 MB", and then automatically turn off. Plug it into pc, open my computer, it will be under name "Sansa clip..." or "removable disk ". If your pc does not recognize it, unplug again and replug it.
Open Sansa Clip..., or removable disk, and delete some songs.
Good luck

My player will not turn on and all my files are empty

Are you using a Mac or PC?

If using PC, then try formatting your sansa clip. This will erase all the files on your mp3 player, but at least you'll be able to access it again. To format: Connect your player, go to "My computer", find your sansa clip in the list, then right click on the sansa clip drive. Click on "Format". Let it erase all your files.. then it should work! I had the same problem, and I got mine to work like this.

If you have a Mac, your computer might not be formatting it properly... try this:
If you have access to Windows, connect your player, launch WindowsMedia Player, and you'll be able to format it correctly...

See the sansa forum for more info: http://www.sansacommunity.com/forum/thread/11585/Sansa-Clip-not-working-anymore/

Good luck...Hope this helps!

Sansa clip 2gb lockec

First of all, may I ask if you have a mini disc player or a Sansa Clip? Because the Sansa Clip does not play discs of any kind.

If you do indeed have a Sansa Clip you will find the FAQ rather helpful here - http://www.sansa.com/support/sansa_clip/faqs
Question 9 there is regarding devices not recognized by the PC and the solutions are as follows:
The most common reason for this problem is not having the latest Windows Media Player installed, or having a Windows OS version that is not supported by the Sansa player.
The Sansa players support Windows XP SP2 and Windows Vista and above. If your operating system version is supported by the Sansa player:
SOLUTION 1 – Download and install the latest Windows Media Player

SOLUTION 2 – If that didn’t help, and you are running Windows Vista, apply the following hotfix - KB940199
SOLUTION 3 – If that didn’t help, download and Install the MTP Porting Kit (click here)
SOLUTION 4 – If that didn’t help, try connecting the device to the PC using MSC mode

Clip: Go to Settings > USB mode & choose MSC

If none of the solutions work for you, please post the results of your attempts and we can go from there.
