Re: Switch problem

That is correct, the flat plastic rod that pulls when you depress the on/off button is attached to a switch lever under the bottom of the handle. The rod in mine broke off right where it connects to that switch lever. You can either try and find the new or used part, Braun may have new, I have not tried their 800 number, can't hurt? I fix everything from scratch though and rebuild when I can especially if parts are scarce or obsolete. So I used some marine putty to affix the rod end back to the lever. Marine putty is a stick with two putties you roll together for a rock hard compound, awesome stuff. You can get at Wally World or hardware, auto parts, boat supply stores. I also drilled very small holes in the broken rod on each side and the lever on each side and threaded some thin stainless steel wire through, just looped it around without twisting it togethor before putting the putty over it for a permanent, wire reinforced, fix.The handle is not screwed on exception of one little torx screw at very bottom of handle on base. The handle just snaps together. The base or bottom and 3 screws do not need to be removed either for this rod and lever fix. Remove the top 'cover' piece of the handle first, then remove the two brass pins under it at top next to the on/off button second. So, the handle 'snaps' off with a lock blade knife or equivalent, get under the handle pieces with knife edge and twist the blade, it will pop off as you go, be prepared to break a few little hook pieces off underneath, they break but it seems to snap back on ok anyway. Crazy glue alone won't hold these plastic pieces together btw, try another way, wire and putty, maybe a plastic welding kit etc.. Mine works great again, once I got the lever reattached to the rod..

Dualit kettle on switch wont stay on

The switch is worn out. If you feel confident about taking the kettle apart and reassembling it, you can buy a new switch at the link below. Otherwise, take it to a shop to have it repaired.

Kettle won't work after switching on with no water inside

It depends on how long you switched on.
*check to make sure that the switch is transmitting electricity if not...
*from my experience with kettles you will need a new element*Depending on the kind of kettle you are using check the power cable and the base of the kettle to make that there is contact between the kettle and the power cable.

Brokem switch on bodum kettle,

The problem with your bodum kettle is not the switch but the fuse that is in the bottom of the kettle. Because you cannot stop the boiler even when it is empty, the boiler overheat and burn the fuse at the bottom. You must unscrew the 3 screws at the bottom part of the kettle (not the base), then unscrew a nut that retain the fuse in a gain to the base. cut the wires and replace the fuse by a new one (less than 2 dollars on ebay). You should not exceed the temperature of the fuse(172 C) as it will melt your boiler if there is no water. Thats why you have to put a fuse. This helps me resolve my button issue with my bodum kettle.

Switch has stopped working, kettle will not heat water

Hi Bruce or anyone else that has this problem.
I had this problem too and after pulling the base off I found that the switch was ok but the problem lay with the two bi-metallic thermal overload switches that are connected to the heating element. I managed to reset them both and now the kettle works fine. This can become an issue if you have accidently boiled the kettle dry once in it's life. Best of luck.

Breville kettle blew fuse (trip switch) now won't switch on

If the 'neon' light is on, the power is getting to the kettle, so if its not heating up then the element must have broken.

This kettle has a little white trip switch inside the 'socket' of the kettle (not the base unit). If its not heating, light is not on and the plug fuse is OK, then poke the white trip until it clicks.

Siemens porsche kettle om switch problem

Some switches are called momentary and others are the click on and click off type.
It could be a problem with the switch if is is the click on type.
It could be a relay that "seals in" when you press the on off switch to on.
By "seal in" I mean, the kettle is wired so that when the relay coil energizes, it closes a contact when it is electrified and becomes an electric magnet and the energy that was going through the on off button, is now going through the closed contact on the relay.
If you don't here a clicking sound like you used to, it could be a fuse inside inside of the electrical box on or by the kettle.
I don't know by the information, if this is a household small appliance or commercial?
Even if household, it should have the same basic setup.

This may be of some help to you

What About The Kettle?

Despite being metal the kettle is cool touch (a tough special grade plastic interior). A good safety feature is that the kettle will only switch on when the lid is closed, there is a special lid release button. The kettle also has automatic overheat protection. Of course the kettle is cordless and has cord storage in its base. Water quality? Well, it's better if you use filtered water, but with this kettle it is even better - it has a removable stainless steel limescale filter in the spout!
