Question about JVC HD-61FN97 61" Television

1 Answer

No sound on my JVC HD61FN97

I didn't notice for some time that I had no sound on my TV speakers. Not sure but kids may have hooked up something that blew things. Anyway to find out or is there a reset?

Thanks

Its not worth it. the parts cost alone will exceed the value of the Tv. you can buy a new 50" TV for $500 or less. Time to put it out to pasture.

could be a driver issue, but I'm inclined to suspect damaged sound chip. I would personally install a separate sound card, in most cases, better quality sound anyway

Can't them to work on my tv after plugging them into the 3.5mm audio out jack

Excuse me if I'm sounding a bit dumb, but don't these speakers need to be powered by an external power supply (You didn't give the model but I'm almost 100% sure they do). if so are they connected to power? And if they are (again, you didn't give the make and model of your TV) are you sure it's an output and not an input jack?

Simple things of course but sometimes overlooked.

Replacing factory speakers in a 2-door 97 Cavalier

Just make sure they are the same size as your stock speakers and they should just fit right in no customizing needed. For a 1997 Cavalier it's 4X6 in the front and 6X9 in the rear. Shouldn't be too hard just a couple screws and hooking up the existing wire to your new speakers.

Bad level of sound.

try hooking up other speakers to receiver, and other receiver to speakers, in order to determine which is the problem causer. open up receiver and check the contacts of the speaker swiches. also check the speaker relays, many times problem lyes there.
