First just try to unplug the unit from main power and connect after sometime and check out .many a time it gets resetted.but if still the same problem its most probably the problem of faulty capacitors or the ic on the main board which supports audion on the tv.just check out with meter and replace the faulty.

If it is a monitor, there probably arent interior speakers.
If you are sure there are speakers, look in the menu to turn speakers on.
Most people do not use the speakers inside the flatscreens, as they are inferior to surround sound speakers. More info on your unit and model # would be helpful in solving your problem.

Olivia tv has no sound but see picture what does this mean?

  • Make sure that your audio cables are plugged in properly to the correct ports if your audio is distorted or noisy. Every cable should be inserted completely. If you still encounter bad audio, replace the cable and then attempt to use a different device with the old cable. This will help you pinpoint the source of the bad audio problem.

Use the "Volume up" button on the remote or TV buttons panel to turn up the TV audio volume if the volume is quiet. If the volume is still quiet, check to see if your audio source device has volume settings. If it does, turn the up the volume on your device (see your device documentation if you need help with this).

Press the "Mute" button on your remote control to disable the mute function if you can't hear any audio. Once disabled, press and hold the "Volume up" button on your remote control to turn up the volume. If there is still no audio, press the "Menu" button on your remote control, select the "Audio" menu, and ensure that the "TV Speakers" are set to "On." If you are still not having any luck and are using the built-in TV tuner, open "MTS Audio" inside the "Tuner" menu and make sure it is set to "Stereo/English." If there is still no audio, verify that all your audio cables (including the antenna cable if you are using one) are plugged securely into the proper ports on your TV and audio source device (if applicable). If you are using an antenna, reposition it to a clear, open area; preferably near a window. If your audio source device has audio settings, check to make sure they are set the way they should be (see device documentation).

I have a Harmon Kardon HK 3370 Stereo Receiver and a Samsung LCD LE40C530F1W. When I connect the stereo Aux jack to the LCD Audio jacks ( red and white rf cables ) I get no sound out via the receiver.

Obviously make sure your stereo mode selector is set to AUX and the volume on the stereo is turned up at least a little when you test it.

If you still have no luck then try increasing the volume on the TV as well. You may have it set so that the level of the audio signal leaving the rear output connectors on the TV varies with the TV volume. That way if your TV volume was turned down or muted when you tested it, then you would not hear anything coming through your stereo.

There should be a setting in the AUDIO OPTIONS menu of your TV where you can switch between a VARIABLE AUDIO OUTPUT and a FIXED AUDIO OUTPUT level.

With the FIXED audio output level, you control the volume of the TV audio coming through the stereo speakers with the stereo remote only.

    Otherwise it should work.

    Good luck.

I just bought a Coby home theater system 5.1 surround sound dvd/cd/ player model#765. I've got it all hooked up but I have one problem, when I want to listen to my tv stations through the home theater...

Hi - Your Home Theater System and your TV should have separate volume controls. You should be able to control each individually. Start by checking the volume level on your TV with your HTS shut-off. Turn the volume on your TV all the way down to 0.

Next, turn your HTS on and check the volume level there. Is it still loud? If so, try turning the volume down on your HTS. That should do the trick. If its not loud then you know you can control the volume on either the HTS or the TV. If this answer does not help, then please write us back with a little more detail. Thanks.

Volume reads green at level 60 but no sound. Cables are all in place.

Sound/volume problems seem to plague this model TV.
Check the electrolytic capacitors in the audio amplifier section - if the tops are puffed up, they're
blown, and that's why you have no audio.
    FIX; replace blown caps
WORKAROUND: turn on closed captioning, or turn up audio on a nearby functioning TV tuned to the same channel.
CAUTION: turn the sound down below 60 - these audio circuits have a reputation for intermittently
    coming back to life.

We have the stereo hooked up to the dynex 42'' tv, as we did our other tv, we can not mute the complete sound and also sometimes we cant turn the volume up and down whats going on?

Since you have it hooked up to the stereo system, you need to go to on screen audio set up and turn off the TV built-in speakers (you will be listening the TV sound through your stereo system speakers), then go to the audio output set up and set it to 'variable' so the audio output of the TV's RCA audio out put will vary with the volume control of the TV (not all TV will alow this function), you will need to set the stereo volume to certain level (around 9~10 O'clock setting) since the sound coming from the TV will be controlled by the TV remote volume control. You can otherwise set the TV output to be at 'fixed' level, which means the sound output of the TV will not be controlled by the TV remote volume control, you will use the stereo remote volume control to adjust the sound level instead. I hope this is clear to you.

I've connected my laptop to mu Tv - want to watch a movie from DVD on computer. Video part ok, but no sound coming through tto Tv. Using two separate cords for audio and video.

Go into the audio settings in the computer and make sure the a/v volume or audio output volume is turned on. Right click on the little speaker at the bottom right and select adjust audio properties. This will be the sound and audio properties. Click advanced at the volume bar box and you will see all the different volume bars. Make sure they are turned up and not muted. This is on windows XP. Yours may be different but it should have sound and audio properties somewhere. Thanks for using fixya. Hope this helps.

if there is no problem with the surround sound, you have a problem with the volume regulation circuit or with the main amp of this TV set, But to say the least is you have a backup to fix your problem, with the sound system, you said it works fine. this could run ya about 250 to 400 to repair. Good luck.
