Question about Presto HeatDish Compact Heater
It's real dumb that the manufacturer does not have an easier method of cleaning this dish. Very poor design, although it looks like their lawyers insisted upon a design that forces users to pry off the grate and avoid law suits from folks who decide to leave it off and burn down their houses. No matter, it's still a poor design.
Your right this is a poor design and if we set back and think about this for a second? The coils burn at around 2800 degrees "red hot" so what exactly sticks to it at that temp? nothing what is really going on is that the tip switch inside gets hot and shorts out. I have posted a fix for this and am using my heatdish every year in winter and have "NEVER" had any further problems.check out my posts for solutions to fix the cleaning problem that is really a buzzer problem.
