This camcorder has a really faulty design and the fact that it runs on AA batteries that it drains in a matter of hours - or less - makes it a recipe for a disaster. After mine froze for the billionth time I played around with it to see what the problem was. Apparently if you move the screen around too much, especially while it is recording, it will cause the thing to freeze. The camera really has a mind of it's own, sometimes the slightest bump will freeze it and other times if you move the screen around dozens of times nothing will happen and it works fine. If you are low on battery, which will be most of the time with this piece of ****, it only makes things worse and not only freezes the camera but shuts it off and erases your recordings. The only way to make it go back to normal is to take the batteries out and put them back in. If they are hot, that means you should let them cool or put new ones in. The best solution though is to trash this thing and buy a quality camera if you have the money.
