Question about Whirlpool GEW9250 Electric Dryer
I used to be able to unplug it for awhile, and it would work again. Now, nothing works but the inside light. I can't get to the electrical components in the front to see if anything obvious is wrong. HOW DO I GET THE TOP FRONT CONTROL PANEL OFF? I've tried 3 times, and see no visable way to remove it. Please help.
FIRST SHUT OFF THE POWER..To remove the top cover, look in back for 2 or 3 torqs screws securing the rear of the top panel, slide the top back to disengage. Remove the 3 or 4 screws holding the sheet metal cover to the ERC on the right side. Move it out of the way. Disconnect the ribbon connector from the user interface to the ERC, locate 4 phillips, two on each side of the back of the front panel... My customer's machine would lock up, same as yours. First I replaced the ERC, no change. Then I replaced the user interface. Ran one or two loads, then locked up. So, I replaced both the ERC and the UI, ran 2 loads and quit again. I gave up and gave her her money back.. JCAS
