M15x gaming laptop screen wont come on after sleep mode or reboot. What can I do?

Looking at your last comment, it looks like you got it working??? Just an heads up, in the future, you might not want to put your laptop into sleep/standy mode while performing an update. If you lose power or have to do a hard shutdown you could corrupt the update and your PC might not boot back up.

Hi,
You can try 2 solutions as mentioned below.

  1. Check in case NUM Lock or CAPS Lock is on, if ON turn it off and try again.
  2. Second, Restart the system and keep tapping F8, You will get a screen for Advance Boot Option. Select Safe mode with networking or Safe mode. Try login in that mode. If logged in successfully, try creating a new account and delete this account as the account has got some problem. Or you can do a system restore.

Hp 6735s was used last night and shut down properly but this morning turning it on the system continue booting without displaying anything on the screen which makes it blank / black........ Please I need...

If there is a display switch in the functions on the keyboard (most likely will look like a laptop monitor or a computer monitor on the keyboard). Press the function key and the button associated with that and wait 3 to 4 seconds (you may have to press it multiple times) If you have anything in the vga slot, then it may think a monitor is plugged in and won't display the laptop screen.
If none of the above work, then maybe your computer is having a systematic failure, or the screen connector is loose.

When I turn computer on the windows boot manager screen comes up. It says windows is having problems communicating with a device on the computer. It says this error could be caused by a removable storage...

Sometimes when you use ram sticks on some older computers they do not handle taking teh ram stick out of the USB port without first closing out teh device OR if you have the RAM stick in while you are booting the machine... it will select the ram stick as the boot device and appear there is no oprerating system present.

In you case when you go to the boot menu.. be sure the boot menu is set to select the hard drive as the primary boot device. If it is not then you can make the change at teh bott up screen.

Screen dim HP pavilion dv1000

The lid actuator switch may not be working correctly. It's a small switch above the keyboard and led's on either the right or left side. Try pressing it 2 or 3 times to see if the display starts working correctly again. If so, it will need to be replaced.

If that doesn't work, you can also turn it on with the ac adapter plugged in. After it boots, press the power button and hold it in until it shuts off and then turn it on again and see if the display has returned to normal.

If neither of these options work, your laptop may need to have the backlight replaced.

No visual display

It sounds like your graphics card is shot. If your graphics card is a dedicated graphics card, you might be able to get it fixed/replaced; if it is embedded, then you are probably going to have to buy a whole new display screen.

Dell B130 won't load up

Finding where the problem is.
Start windows in SAFE MODE
You will see the last file that it hangs at. Usually AGP440.sys
----------------------------------------------------------
Disabling AGP440.sys
----------------------------------------------------------
Boot the system - Hold F8 Key
before the METER BAR on the bottom starts

Go to the Recovery Mode -
When it ask for directory <1> should be shown (unless you have multiple boot partitions.
When in the console mode enter
disable AGP440 (or AGP440.sys)
***depends on SP level***

Exit the console and attempt to reboot normally
---------------------------------------------------------------------

hope that helps

POWER ON, WILL NOT BOOT

Sounds like you definitely have something that is intermittently not making proper contact. I'd suggest checking all of the cable connectors first. Disconnect each one and reseat it. If that doesn't do the trick, you may have a broken land pattern on the motherboard. That usually means a motherboard replacement.
