Unit no longer recognizes CD's. Was working well, no problems. Have tried several CD's...commercial and ripped. No luck.

- dsom, Thanks for the suggestion. Cleaning lens did not work. Next on the list to try is: 1. Dirty or damaged objective lens. 2. Loading (mechanical) not completed reliably. 3. Damaged lens suspension or damaged lens cover preventing free movement. 4. Dirt, gummed up lubrication, or damage in sled drive mechanism. 5. Dirty/defective limit switch or sensor. 6. Defective spindle motor. 7. Spindle table height incorrectly set. 8. Bad component in optical pickup. 9. Cracks in ribbon cable to optical pickup. 10. Need to adjust servo (or less likely, optical) alignment. 11. Faulty power supply, electronics, or control logic. 12. Bad connections including missing/erratic optical deck shield. 13. External interference.

- CD lens cleaner did not work. Removed the top of the player to get to the lens. Used a special cleaning solution (Isopropyl alcohol might work), cleaned the lens. Works fine now.

my player plays ok for a while (an hour) then freezes. Does not appear to be overheating. At this point it will often spin the disc at high speed when I try to reload. Sounds like a jet engine starting. It displays "loading" while this goes on. Have tried lots of DVDs with same result. Plays CDs ok for the most part. Initially the player would not get beyond the "jet engine" stage when first loading the DVD, but now it plays for a while before acting up. I have looked in vain for a "reset" button. Any ideas?

Hmmm, interesting... My Cambridge Audio all-in-one Cd/DVD/tuner/amp Azur 540d is making a clicking sound when playing DVDs. It doesnt do this when playing CDs at all. The noise is audible as a fast ticking, like it's picking up the sound of the dvd spinning, while playing the movie although funnily enough it seems to stop ticking during the blank gaps between tracks e.g. when going from adverts onto the main feature.
Help! Not sure what the cause might be....
