Brand new acer aspire. turn power on,half-way through set up sreen goes blank.

How to fix or troubleshoot blank or black screen not powering up issues...

some times when we brows get blank due to unability of high resolutions
which need a graphic card...
tell us your operating system then i ould possible to solve the problem...
it is not a hardware defect if screen reappear innext moment

Your new computer has a defective screen. Return it to place of purchase and return it.

Most likely. You can check the cable connection to the motherboard and check the cabel where it goes thru the hinge assy for wear, but what you describe is indicative of a hardware failure of the LCD

Also connect an external monitor, see if it shows full screen, if it does, and reseating the cable has no effect, check Ebay for a replacement LCD

Try taking the battery out before you turn it on. Have seen completely a dead dead battery keeping a laptop from starting up. Does the hard drive activity light flickering? If it is you can try holding down the Function button (FN) and there should be another button to hit to switch between LCD\CRT.

ACER PICTURE PROBLEM – MY SOLUTION

I had a similar problem, but I got a picture before it broke up and went off. The screen was backlit, but no video (screen was receiving some power).
The LCD needs a very stable voltage to work, this is provided through the LCD connector ribbon. In my case the ribbon was damaged and replaced it.
I have had no problem since.

I discovered this through trial and error; I first changed my transformer power supply and then the video inverter card.

I can only see first two lines of your message so might need more information ALL computer power off if the not used for sometime this can be 5 mins or 5 hrs depending what your power functions are set at If it is not plug into the wall plug in and leave for half an hour then try turning on and in control panel the is an icon called power change the setting to suit

try to reseated memory.
