Question about Jura Capresso C1000 Espresso & Coffee Maker
While attempting to decalcify my C3000 for the first time today, everything went according to the manual until right after I was to "FILL WATER". I filled the tank (after the durgol/water mixure had been used up, appropriately) then opened the tap and pushed the calc button (as instructed). But then instead of the machine pumping the water from the tank through the steam nozzle and tea spout, it started beeping and said "FILL SYSTEM" and "PRESS STEAM". I have no idea what system it wants me to fill. The water tank is full. And when I press the steam button, it just makes a noise for a few seconds and then starts beeping again, with the same "FILL SYSTEM" and "PRESS STEAM" message. Now it won't do anything. It will only allow me to press the steam button, no other buttons are active. I can't make coffee, can't complete the decalcifying process, and I'm scared it's broken.

Auto descale: To automatically descale your machine, press the scoop button or menu button if you have one, and hold it down until you enter the menu. Use the arrows on the left to scroll down until you come to Descale. Press enter and the machine will enter the mode to descale your machine. The process takes about 45 minutes. You don’t have to do a thing except mix a full water tank with descaling solution and have a container under the steam wand when your start. To start the descaling process, simply turn the steam knob. When the process is over your machine will say "Descale finished". Remove your water tank and rinse it out. Refill it with fresh water. Replace on the machine and start the descaling process over again to rinse your machine. Go back into your menu and scroll up or down 1 to signal descale and enter. Choose "Yes" and push enter so the machine will tell you when you need to descale again.

decalcify is the same as descale. i discovered the same thing - i believe they've updated the firmware in the machine and not updated the manuals. when you go to purchase the cleaning agent, it's actually called "decalcifying solution". hope that helps. cheers, wizdude.

Fill watertank with descaler solution, place a large bowl underneath the steam wand, locate the button that looks like a sideways 8 or oo or similar, press it for five seconds and the machine will begin auto descaling. Follow further instructions on scree.
