I received a new computer for Christmas, but have misplaced the software to load my Lexmark printer (previously connected to old computer, which has been completely disasssembled and is sitting in an unused bedroom). Is ther any way to install my printer without the software?

There are Lexmark X5470 drivers available for download in the Lexmark website. I recommend not to plug the Lexmark printer to your computer yet. Download the software first. Just
click on this link: http://bit.ly/aNFBAO . Click on the Microsoft or Macintosh dropdown to choose the operating system of your computer. Then download and install the software.
Follow the instructions. Hope this helps. If you need more assistance, leave a comment and I'll get back to it. Thanks.
Installing X2350 is really an easy task. You just need to connect the printer to the CPU with a USB cable and then install the software on to the computer. You can use the CD that came with the printer to install the software, If you haven't got the CD or misplaced it. You can download the software from Lexmark website. Please follow the link to download the software from the website. http://downloads.lexmark.com/perl/downloads/downloads.cgi?ccs=229:1:0:0:0:0 please follow the above link and type in X2350 in the "search by model" field. This will take you to the download page where you can download the software. Did you just install windows Vista?? If you did, disconnect the printer from the computer and reload the lexmark driver. Windows will pop up a message saying that it doesn't recognize the software being loaded. Click to load anyway. The instructions will tell you when it is ok to connect the printer.
Vista tries to install istall its own driver for anything you connect to you computer. Always install the products driver before installing the device.
Looks like I've cracked it [Touches wooden desk]. Need a USB to IEEE 1284 36-pin Parallel Printer Cable, like the one I received today (ordered yesterday from www.cables2u.co.uk). First, connect it to Z11. Turn on Z11 and boot up Vista PC/laptop. (I run Vista Business on my laptop.) Connect cable to computer. Message appears "Installing device driver software". Click it for status. 'Found New Hardware' box appears. Click 'Locate and install driver software'. A message appears "Error loading LXADSUI.DLL. Specified module could not be found". Click 'OK'. Message appears saying driver software installed successfully. ["Yeah, right ..."] (Have faith, folks!) Now, click Start, then Control Panel and double-click Printers. Right click on Z11 and click on Set As Default Printer. Right click on Z11 again and click on Properties. Check on Ports tab that Port USB is ticked for Z11. On Cartridge Maintenance tab, check right cartridge is showing. If not, click 'Install/Change Cartridge' and follow instructions. Then 'Clean Print Nozzles' and 'Align Cartridges'. Check settings on the other tabs in Properties look OK and try printing a test page! It looks good to me!
